Week 11- 3D Printing Review:

By tobin4 on July 27, 2014

Let me first say that I really enjoyed your OER on 3D Printing. One thing that I noticed right away was that you incorporated the Creative Common license right on the your homepage at the bottom. This is a wonderful touch that strengthens the presentation itself for the user. I know in my group’s OER we placed it in sub-page 3 tabs in and I think it should be on the front page. Another strong quality to your presentation was the choice afforded to the learner in Activity #1. I enjoyed trying Tinkercad, Shapeshifter and Makerbot Customizer and found that Tinkercad worked the best for my needs. I found the interface for Shapeshifter frustrating and having the ability to try different 3D design applications and pick the one that worked the best for me lead to a great learning experience. Activity #2 also provided choice for looking at different Case Studies and discussions to join. Again, the OER shows that building choice into the design really translate well to engagement. I find myself more motivated when choice is present. Amazing job! Well done!

Cheers!

Chad 🙂
