Venture Pitch

Hi Erin, very well written venture pitch. You have provided very clear examples and realistic use of funding. If you had provided more information on sources of revenue it would be perfect. While this may seem like a small venture, I definitely think this is a viable investment and I would put my money down for this venture.

REVIEW: You have a very well written and detailed venture pitch here. I really liked the layout that you have, as it provides great details and information on your product and how it would work for me as an investor. Your graphics are very well placed and give a great overview of the marketplace and area of needs. As an investor, I would like to know more information on how I would make money, not just the costs. A very nice presentation.

Review: I also reviewed your venture proposal and I thought it was very well written and organized. It clearly demonstrates your unique experience and expertise in the area. My background is in corporate training & development as well so I definitely see a need for training that is adaptive, customizable and leverages educational technologies. I have worked with internal training & development departments for regulatory compliance training and have seen training fail to adequately address different learning preferences and lack educational technologies that can enhance and customize online learning. From an investors perspective I would be interested in investing in your service because you successfully demonstrate that there is a need for your service and there is minimal competition. As an investor I would ask you to present a business model before I make my final decision to invest or not. I would like to know, for example, if your fees would be per user or course, or per month, or annually? And what would your fees be like to support training once its completed for course materials maintenance and maintenance of the online networking platform for users? Once that's laid out, it would be a definite "yes" from me! :)

Feedback: Wow, you did a great job with VideoScribe!! It looks very professional! What I found most interesting about your pitch was that you stated your marketing strategy in detail. If I was an investor this would definitely attract me and I would be interested in learning more about your service. My suggestion would be to slow down your narration and to have some of the subject areas that you would be offering your training in written in text in your presentation. Also, when you state your past experience I would also list your areas of expertise as text (maintenance, facilities, manufacturing, etc.) - it would make the presentation easier to follow. :)

As noted below, you are speaking quite quickly which made it hard to understand the whole video. I certainly think that it is a viable venture and your credentials seem to meet the pain point very well. There is a market for e-training, and your video was excellent. You differentiated your solution well from the current solutions in the market, which I found intriguing as an investor.

Feedback: You have a well conceived venture, with true market potential, however I found your elevator pitch a little difficult to follow because you were talking pretty fast. I had to watch it a few times to get the gist of it. I would slow down your delivery a bit in the future, and run long if you have to. But I was intrigued by your pitch nonetheless, and your venture seems like a viable product. You obviously know the market in your area well.

FEEDBACK: Hi Erin, well done pitch video. The visuals with voice-over were quite effective and you covered the gamut of what your service is trying to accomplish. I found it very enjoyable to watch. My only very minor suggestion is that it was perhaps a bit too wordy at the outset to hold my attention for the longer pitch, this might be because I'm a non-teacher though. If explaining this to someone over casual conversation and a handshake, you would simplify and start with the broad strokes until you firmly held their interest, later gaining a bit more complexity. As an educator I'd understand the great value you present right away. As a VC who might not be an educator, I might need things simplified a bit at the outset. The only way I could see this being made stronger is by presenting the problem/pain-point first to give the issue an increased sense of urgency/importance, then move on to explaining how your company is in a unique position to solve the issue differently or more effectively than similar services. Also it's good from an investor standpoint to communicate right away how this is going to save money and make money. Overall a very strong and very likable pitch!

Feedback: Well done Erin, your venture pitch gives a solid indication of where your product aims to meet the needs of consumers. In terms of the presentation itself, I wonder if perhaps you could have trimmed down some of the content in order to make the delivery less rapid? I felt that it was a lot of information to take in all at once, but I suppose the beauty of video is we can watch it over again. I liked how you used visuals in addition to your narration, because that did help in the retention of information.

Feedback: I really like the way you organized your elevator pitch, using the visuals and written information to enhance your audio. I did find that your pitch moved very quickly and at times, you were a little difficult to understand. I had to watch it a couple of times to get the whole gist of the presentation and I am not sure this would happen during a real pitch situation. I like that you went in a different direction and focused on health and safety of various work places. This opens you up to a variety of markets. I think you have a good idea that just needs a little more fleshing out.
