Here I am at last!
I have been working with education technology for about 14 years at first in adult education, later in museums and for the last 8 years in higher education. I have been at UBC for 18 months, prior to that I worked in the UK so please forgive me if I get a little lost in translation at times. My interest in education technology stems for my MA in oral history where I specialized in producing and archiving oral testimony on video. I also have some experience producing history documentary film. I was self employed as an oral historian for about three years and then went over to work in universities when the grant funds finally dried up. The university was less interested in my passion for oral history and more interested in my previous experience in business development. This eventually led to me developing education technology projects which made money – and of course some that lost money! I am interested in becoming more successful at the former rather than the latter and hope this course might give me more insight in how to do that.
