A3- SoloHealth Kiosk

By Bass on November 23, 2014

Hello everyone,

Here is my elevator pitch  and the venture presentation about the healthcare kiosk, a new renovation in the healthcare system. I hope to see the advanced system here in Canada very soon.

Elevator Pitch: http://www.powtoon.com/show/bD0EUY9ITqn/health-care-kiosk-elevator-pitch/

Venture Presentation: http://www.powtoon.com/show/bPQBr3KQS8n/health-care-kiosk-venture-presentation/

Thank you,

Bassam

Hi Bassam, I thought your elevator pitch was confident, straight to the point and definitely credible. I enjoyed the rich-data videos but had a hard time keeping up with the vast amount of information provided at times. You provide a solution for a specific problem and a straight-up financial overview; this usually appeals to investors. Like others, I was expecting a solution to an educational problem but what you've offered is a health-care-related venture, a field that doesn't exactly capture my personal interest. Overall, you've done a good job and presented a very well-researched work.

You do a fine job in your elevator pitch addressing needs with patient wait times and other health care issues. I’m not sure, however, why I should invest because I’m looking at investing in educational technology. How is this an educational solution? It seems more closely aligned with improving efficiencies using technology. While this is a worthy goal, I’m not investing in that area. Even though I’m not investing in health care technology at this time, I listened to your venture pitch. I’m still not convinced that this has an educational value apart from the fact that physicians may know more about their patients by having better access to their medical records. Sorry, but I’m not investing.

Hi Bassam, I enjoyed watching your elevator and main pitch. I think going with videos was a good choice as your pitch was data rich. The vast amount of data that you offered, although hard to remember at times, showed that you were well-researched in your pitch and this made the venture come across as confident and well-established. Like others, I do not have much knowledge of the health care field, but I did find it refreshing that you went with something a little different. I can see where this type of product can appeal to Canadians as it addresses a problem that nearly all patients deal with. Your venture seems like it's already established with so many kiosks and users. I felt like perhaps it was already a little too established and I didn't really understand what new investment would bring. Overall, you did a good job in explaining your rationale and provided a lot of useful data to support it. Good work. Pooneh

It’s hard to say whether this would be a profitable venture but it’s easy to say it’s not aligned with our goals as an educational technology firm since its focus is on the medical industry. That fact notwithstanding, this was an interesting proposal because of the clear value this product provides: more efficient access to medical care for users, and increased revenue for owners through greater quantity of patients. If the medical kiosk industry is indeed ready to “explode” - presumably in a good way - this could be a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an expanding market. But not enough information was given about the place of Solo-health’s kiosk in this new market to justify our investment. What does it do differently? Why would we invest in this venture instead of its competitors? More than anything, this pitch effectively introduced a new market (medical kiosks) but did not adequately promote the new venture (Solo-health). Ultimately, I must recommend our firm pass on this venture.

Hi Bassam, Your business case for your product is very strong and supported by convincing and credible data. Your choice and use of media is great. That being said, it sounds like the venture is off to a good start with already many users. If you are to seek investment which is the purpose of this pitch, your pitch does not clearly explain what the investment would be used for. Also, I know that Edtech is a broad field, but in some ways I fail to see how relevant this product is to the learning and education field. Perhaps you may want to spend a bit less time explaining the "painpoint", as many of us are already convinced and spend more time showing what this product is capable of, and show ways in which it can improve someone’s health

Hello Bassam The venture pitch you created is rock solid. You have a clear growth strategy supported by well-organized and professionally presented data analysis. On top of that your start-up already boasts a 2,500-strong kiosk deployment with more to come in the near future. You also presented vividly the development of current trends, which boost investor confidence by showing why the demand for your product will grow steadily – it solves real problems for real people in real time. What is more, these problems are only going to get worse when we consider growing populations and ever more inadequate healthcare resources, especially in Canada. My only suggestion is to expand on the professional abilities of your team. The results speak for themselves but I would like to see who the people are behind these impressive accomplishments.

Bassam, I thought both your elevator pitch and venture pitch were well put together. The graphics you included helped to support the spoken information and in general allowed for your ideas to come through very clearly. If I was an investor considering solohealth I would want to know a little bit more about what exactly the kiosks do. The financials you provide for solohealth make the product very attractive to invest in, and similarly I think you did a good job illustrating the pain point. With that being said, without explaining how your product addresses the pain point, it would be difficult to invest in solohealth or recommend it to investors. I also thought your pitch could have been strengthened by analyzing your competitors and explaining why your product will be competitive in the market. Overall though I thought your pitches were very well done.

FEEDBACK: Hi Bassam, I'm imagining your venture is similar to a WebMD approach to diagnosing illnesses. I know I've googled symptoms many times when I don't want to go to the doctor or want to know if what I'm feeling is serious enough for a visit. I am wondering if there are real doctors monitoring Solo Health Kiosk. The big problem with WebMD is that it makes hypochondriacs worry even more. It's a sort of running joke that any small rash, cough, or pain is diagnosed as cancer with the current databases. Does Solo Health Kiosk address these issues? Also, is it free or do people pay for it? Maybe an idea could have a freemium where people can search the database and a premium where people could communicate with a professional. Overall, this is a great idea but before I would recommend an investor I would want more information about the cost structure and a medical professional's involvement.

Bassam, this is a very ambitious venture you have produced. The part that instantly appeals to the investor is the fact that people are busy and they want things done fast! This is a key selling point of the product and is one that you have significantly highlighted. Providing services in the fastest way possible is what this generation is naturally drawn to and your product aims at satisfying those needs. Your venture pitch is driven by facts but as a potential investor, there are some aspects behind this endeavor that need more clarification. As an investor, I am interesting in knowing who the main competition is. Hospitals and outpatient centers have already established self-check in kiosks so my question is, when time is spent developing and testing your product, what are the chances that the competition will already launch something like this into the marketplace? Furthermore, this product is so rich in its technological design, so if I were to invest in such a product, I would want to know a fair deal about the design and development that was put into creating something so unique. Overall, you’ve presented an impressive venture that addresses key concerns about the fast times we are in and I feel that with a little more development in terms of manufacturing and promotions, this product has immense potential.

Hello, You did an excellent job creating the elevator and venture pitches for SoloHealth. I found your arguments regarding the pain point for your product particularly strong. You went into great detail describing the problems with the current health care system. You furthered the validity of your venture by thoroughly explaining the advantages of SoloHealth kiosks for consumers and meticulously defining the solution your product provides. I like how you provided an alternative type of venture, by focusing on the health care system, although I do not feel knowledgeable enough in that area to predict the success of a health-related venture. As a user, I am certainly interested in your product and think it could benefit Canadians seeking health care; however, as a prospective investor, I would like additional information on some aspects of your venture, such as the strategies for marketing, financial requirements (you received a 1.2 million dollar grant but I do not know how much more is required) and the prospective return for investors. Overall, you did a great job explaining the potential of your product in terms of benefiting Canadians and possibly individuals worldwide.
