HI Josh, I agree with Benjamin regarding the value of your idea and your passion for the topic. Aside from a wealthy benefactor, other options for funding could include local business or corporate sponsors, you could try crowd sourcing (I think that is the approach at Wikipedia), or I wonder if you could partner with education institutions. It may provide value for theology students to be able to connect with each other and may even be a way to attract new students. Great concept - best of luck with the venture.
Hi Josh, Your elevator pitch and venture pitch successfully convey your passion for the market need and solution that you are describing. You are clearly in a strong position to lead your venture based on your expertise and experience in the topic area. I was left wondering about the economic viability of the venture, given your desire to model after the Khan Academy. The Gates Foundation was the first major investor in the Khan Academy, when otherwise they were spending their own savings to fund development. Therefore, largely Khan works using grant money associated with the service they are providing and their market reach. I understand that there could be a significant pool of donor money in the market that you are targeting, but I do question the value to an investor looking for profit. Great work on the video, and I think that at the core your idea is really strong.
