I just starting the program and am very excited, though a bit nervous to be starting with two electives.
Briefly, I completed my degrees in English and Law at UBC and practiced law for a little while before happily ending up in adult education. I taught at private colleges for 15 years, spending the last 10 as senior education manager. I learned a tremendous amount about education–most of it the hard way. I do feel very lucky to now be able to delve more deeply into so many of the things I had to experience on the fly.
At the moment I largely work supporting my husband’s software development business. I also just started a part-time job as the librarian for the Courtenay and Campbell River courthouses; it seems like a great job to have when going back to school!
My interest in 522 stems largely from my goal to develop educational software/applications in partnership with my husband. I am sure that there is a lot to learn before “venturing out” of my comfort zone.
Otherwise, I live on a small acreage with the aforementioned husband, two horses, and a wonderful dog. I enjoy a myriad of outdoor activities, growing stuff, and board games..among others.
I look forward to working with you all.
