Hello Everyone !

By ivana on September 13, 2015

My name is Ivana,  I am from Toronto, Ontario and have recently graduated with my Bachelor of Commerce-Human Resources Strategy and Technology degree this past June. One of the major functions of HR that I studied in my undergrad was training and development. I really enjoyed learning how to identify skills gaps in a business and learning how to design training programs  for employees using adult learning principles and elearning technology. One of the projects that I am most proud of is an elearning course that myself and two other classmates designed using Coursesites as a platform. The course taught employers how their business can be in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). This course started off as just a school project for my Technology and Enhanced Learning class but it ended up being picked up by a company and used to train their staff. I enrolled in the MET program to further develop my elearning design skills beyond the two courses I already did in undergrad  so that I am able to specialize in training and development as a career. What I hope to get out of this particular course is to learn how to analyse and tap into potential markets in the elearning industry; the workforce training and development industry more specifically as starting my own business in elearning is something that I have had in the back of my mind. In my spare time I enjoy playing RPG table top games and spending time with my new puppy Rocky. He is a “Malshipoo” (Maltese, Shi Tzu, Poodle mix) and only 2 months old.
