Hi 522!

By rskucas on September 13, 2015

Hi,

My name is Rebecca and I am a grade 6/7 teacher in Vancouver. This photo was taken a few minutes from my school as I was out during a short walk at lunch break this past week. Getting back to the regular schedule means some busy weeks ahead so I’m cognizant of trying to balance the days with an outdoor activity or something technology free. The recent storm the south-coast of BC experienced at the end of August revealed to me how dependent one can be on technology. Our area happened to be out of our power for 36 hours and this experience gave our family a reality check of how much we can depend on electricity and also forced us to come up with solutions of what we can do without it : )

This is my 6th MET course and I am happy to know I am past the half way mark. I have completed all the core courses as part of the program and when I was looking at selecting a course for this term, I wanted an elective that offered a different perspective in education technology and the 522 outline and description of using market analysis and looking at analyzing different companies to take on your own interests intrigued me.

I look forward to navigating through this course with the plethora of different backgrounds we have in our cohort!
