Vancouver, checking in…

By Patrick Conlan on September 13, 2015

Hi there! My name is Patrick and I currently live/work in Vancouver, BC. Although I originate from the San Francisco Bay Area of California. This is my third course in the MET program. Back in CA I worked at a high school where I supported all their educational technology. Everything from Google Apps to student information systems (PowerSchool) to online gradebooks to laptop programs to multimedia carts. Lots and lots of cool and fun stuff to play with on a daily basis. Now I work for a network security company creating technical training videos. That may seem like a weird leap from EdTech to video production but a few years ago I got a masters degree in multimedia, so it kind of makes sense for me at the moment. I am a pretty hardcore techie and love playing around with new and interesting things, which means that ETEC 522 is right up my alley. My future goals revolve around building out my educational skills and networking to create engaging and meaningful educational experiences.
