FreshGrade is a technology tool that can be used by educators to create secure digital portfolios of students in their class. The application allows educators to engage in ongoing communication between home and school, track students progress, generate reports and create personalized learning slideshows. I chose to analyse this particular program because I am currently working toward improved communication between home and school in my classroom.

Hi, I didn't even think of the ban on photography. This is definitely a drawback for the software and program.
This seems like a great product, Brittany, that fulfils some of the promise of eLearning. I love the parental involvement aspect. That's something that can really revolutionize education because traditionally, parents never really see what's going on the classroom. One tiny suggestion: I would add to weaknesses schools that have an outright ban on photography. I was once kicked out of a school and never hired back as a supply teacher because a child refused to tell me his name (I needed it to report some minor misbehaviour to his regular classroom teacher) and I said "I'll just take a picture and send to your classroom teacher then". The kid complained at the office at lunch, resulting in the school administrators expressing shock and horror at the mere idea of photographing a student.
