Week 9: Image from comments

By rskucas on November 6, 2015

Equality

Activity 1.

This image came up through the comments from Activity 1.

Personalized learning is similar to the “Equity” photo on the right. Tools, technology, and resources are personalized to be able provide adaptations for the student. Allowing the student on the right to raise to their full potential. This photo now needs to be updated when looking through this week’s perspective for 2016. As the child on the left it left with nothing personalized to their learning and we are looking towards a future for all students to have their learning personalized not just those students who are the most vulnerable and need the most support.

I like this visual as well. Prescriptive education, giving students the right remediation at the right time, rather than everyone getting the same. I use this analogy with my students when they question why one student seemingly gets and easier task or technology remediation. We provide what each student needs to get better, just like a dr.
