Hello Everyone!

By moumita chakraborty on May 15, 2016

Hello Everyone,

I am an Instructional Designer with overall experience of 8 yrs. I have developed e-learning, instructor-led training, rapid eLearning for software products and applications.

Last year we moved to Vancouver from Hyderabad, India. And the past few months have been a very “happening”. From trying to settle down in the new country, meeting people, finding jobs, to experiencing my first snowfall, it has been amazing.

Over the past few months, I have frequently asked myself one question, “What next?” Yes I have a job, yes I am a mother to a toddler girl, and yes I am in a position where I am comfortable. But What next? Enrolling in MET is one of those decisions, where I hope to find the answer to my question. This is my 2nd MET course, I have still not figured out everything. But learning is my passion, and I want to use this experience to learn, learn, and learn.

After reading most of your introductions, I am certain that I will get plenty of opportunities to enlarge my vision and be more certain of my direction.

Here is a picture of my family:

Looking forward to working with everyone.

Yes - what next? And I share your passion for learning and am trying to figure it all out too! I visited India a number of years ago with my job at Nokia and was completely blown away: Delhi and Mumbai left a lasting impression. Looking forward to learning with you! Tracey

Hi Moumita, it's nice to meet you. It must have been quite a difficult transition moving from the India to Canada! Many of my colleagues experienced snow for the first time in adulthood - it's something I completely took for granted before moving to Asia. I look forward to working with you.

Hi Moumita! Welcome! I can't imagine how busy you are with your move, job search and then jumping into MET with a toddler!! Amazing! However, I usually find the busier someone is the more they get done :) Looking forward to learning with you this semester.
