Hello From Richmond BC

By yuandi du on May 15, 2016

Hello everyone,

My name is Yuandi Du and I am glad to be part of the team for this term’s “ventures in educational technologies”.

I joined the MET program because of the promising potentials in educational technologies. In my opinion, educational technologies will lead global education industry towards a whole new era, an open education platform available to everyone connected to Internet. As a result of the technological advancement, I think that the social convention of earning an education in schools will soon be challenged. Consequently, educational technologies will serve as main delivering channels of knowledge.

More importantly, joining the MET program can better prepare me for reaching my career goal – found an online business learning community for small businesses in China. Majored in business management in undergraduate, I understand how business thinking can play a big role in day-to-day operations. Yet most small businesses in China are lack of education on this subject. Therefore, I wish to take use of my knowledge to help Chinese small businesses to become more efficient and successful.

The business potentials of making an business learning community in China is promising too. So far, there isn’t many institutions are involved in this subject, and the chances of being a first mover in the market is very likely. However, I need to make myself familiar with the educational technologies before making the first step. So here I am in the “ventures in educational technologies”.

I am eager to learn new concepts and new perspectives from this course and my fellow classmates!
