Hi everyone,
My name is Madeleine Lee and i’m a Program Manager with UBC’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Flexible Doctor of Pharmacy Program. This is my 2nd course in the MET program and i’m look forward to applying the theories and concept from this program as I work with our Educational technology team to develop an online program for working pharmacist.
I graduated from SFU with a Criminology degree and was originally planning on purusing a career as a lawyer or at least in the legal field. I’ve worked in law offices in the past, but something didn’t seem to fit. Since starting at UBC, almost 2 years ago, my passion for education has grown. When implementing procedures, policies, etc. I try to think about the most logical method, but that’s not always applicable in an educational setting. My colleague once asked me, what is the educational benefit of what you’re trying to do? I really had no idea how to answer him or what a ‘correct’ answer would have been. I hope that through tthe MET courses I will be able to understand and apply techniques that will be educational beneficial to the learner and the educator.
I look forward to working with each of you and learning from your diverse background.
Madeleine
