A1: Duolingo

By Jakin Lam on June 25, 2017

I have been fascinated by Duolingo’s vision to provide accessible and free education to all. There are very few good quality and extensive educational material and services that are completely free. Duolingo offers their entire content and service for free. It is not the usual freemium service provider where in order to gain access to all content you’ll need to pay. I believe Duolingo’s disruptive business model is the first step to democratizing education.

My analyse report on Duolingo is meant to be given to school leaders or school district leaders as a way to start the dialogue of enhancing and introducing new language learning courses. Duolingo can effectively be used in the classroom or informally through student’s personal learning goal. Whether this program is implemented at the school or promoted to students, it is expected that students will benefit the most when they learn new languages.

I have chosen infographic as the format of my report mainly because it is the quickest way to capture the readers attention. This format is visually appealing either printed or read on the screen. The simple and emphasis of graphics over text format allows the reader to gain access to the most critical information effectively.
