Hello!
My name is Kat Costales and I live in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. In my spare time, I love spending time outdoors with my friends and family, especially on our beautiful west coast mountains!
I have taught Kindergarten for the past 4 years and prior to that worked as a Special Education Assistant for 6 years.
To be honest, I decided to take my Masters of Educational Technology because I am the worst with technology. Growing up with a family of engineers, I rarely had to figure technology out on my own. I figure if I’m bad at it, the only way to get better is to learn and experience it for myself, so here I am in my second (and third with ETEC 510) MET course. YAY!
I’m taking ETEC 522 because taking a course with the learning objectives summarized by using the words Savvy, Acumen, Leadership, and initiative was too exciting to pass up. I don’t have a business background, but I do hope to leave this course with a working knowledge and critical evaluation of learning technology ventures in the public and private sectors.
I’m looking forward to taking this course, and working with all of you!
Kat
