Hello everyone!
I am very excited to begin my 8th and 9th ETEC courses this fall and learn with you all during the home stretch of my MET. When not out exploring the outdoors or completing coursework, I teach senior Math and Physics for the West Vancouver School District. I began teaching at a BC offshore school in Wuhan, China, for 3 years. I later taught onboard Class Afloat, essentially a high school program operating on a hundred-year-old Norwegian tall ship. Since moving back to the North Shore of Vancouver in 2015, I taught grade 6/7 for a couple years and currently teach senior physics and math. The common thread throughout each professional experience has been the widespread use of various innovative technology within the classroom. I have kindled my passion for finding better ways to incorporate technology into my pedagogical design and I am eager to watch my role as educator evolve as I continually refine my professional practices.
Beyond professional pursuits, I am an avid sea kayaker, trail runner, mountain biker, skier, SUPer and recently discovered the magic of backcountry skiing.
I look forward to working and collaborating with you all this term!
Bryn
