Hi AI group! Wow, your OER is very informative. I went onto your website with minimal information on AI in education and I left with an abundance of information to digest. I enjoyed reading about the market insight and future plans as well. Your group clearly laid out the importance of intertwining AI communication and education into our real-world use. I see how useful AI is in areas that are more analytic and systematic, but what about other areas that require more than just a yes, no, or short sentence answers? Also, AI is able to solve pre-hypothesised answers and ways to solve the foreseeable issue but will AI one day be able to develop its own ways to solve problems that are not pre-programmed by its developers?

Hello team AI. Thank you for all your hardwork into producing this OER. I learned a great deal about AI tutors sepcifically and this definitley gave me further insight into how these could be applied in my own work. At the same time, based on some of the examples that you shared, I feel that the technology for AI tutors is not advanced enough yet to provide real value, and may prove to be more of a source of frustration than a positive learning opportunity where it is now. In terms of your OER, I can see that your team put a lot of hard work into this and as a result you covered a lot of material. I think it could be refined a bit more to be more consumable as I felt it was a lot to go through before getting to the interactivities. I liked your survey and that you gave us the opportunity to ask our own personalized question, and the inclusion of your own chatbot. One thing I would suggest is perhaps brief survey at the end to assess if the learner would change their responses, or has any questions at that point that they would like answered after having more insight into the content. I would also suggest adjusting the timing for your AI primer as I personally found the automatic slide animations to be much too fast to keep up with the text, and had to pause and control it manually. Overall, I really enjoyed this week's lesson - thank you!

Hello AI Team, thank you for the presentation. Personally, I have not had a good experience with chatbots. Usually they keep on repeating the same information even when I ask different questions.
I enjoyed going through the different examples. At least now I know a little more about AI and what products and services are out there that can be used. The ‘compare & contrast’ among the examples you provided, showed me what I would want and not want if I decided to use AI as a tool.
There is a market for AI. I would have wanted to see examples of AI tutor on different subject. While going though your work, I was asking if AI would be possible for all subject. For example Art?
My only comment would be on the size of the Padlet. On interactivities the Padlets were a little bit small.

Good work AI in Education group! I especially enjoyed learning about the existing and future market potential for educational AI. I have an understanding of AI and some of its potential for higher ed, but I still have trouble envisioning its use in my environment beyond its administrative applications. The case study was a great example, but I think it would have been beneficial to also see some further examples or scenarios of AI being used at educational institutions. The tremendous amount of work and research you put in is really evident.

Hi Team, Some things done well first: lots of interactivity available within the site, I like the introduction survey as an initializer for our knowledge, and a lot of information. Some room for improvement, I see the main point of this assignment as pushing for AI chatbots and tutors in upper education (correct, yes?) Similar to what other peers have said, I feel as though the layout of this OER was convoluted, jumping around between topics back and forth without driving a main idea home until the last few pages. There were many acronyms used without explanations, and many of the pages were filled to the brim with text. How could you better use affordances of digital media to display your information without needing to overload the reader with text?

Thank you for providing so much information on AI Tutors and chatbots. Ironically, I wouldn’t have considered these chatbots to be AI - maybe all the Sci-Fi shows have me thinking that all AI is microchips and robots, so I was very intrigued and fascinated to find out that they are in-fact AI! I do wish there was more information on AI specifically and how it is important to the education realm. I did appreciate the fact you provided different levels of the AI tutor and chatbot market and information about each of them - the key players, innovation leaders and the start ups. I really liked exploring the start ups. Within your OER, there was SOO much information and so many resources that within the time span I had trouble going through all of it. On the plus side, I now have a resource to turn to if I ever want/need to explore this topic further!

HI AI team! Thanks for this week's OER. As I reflect on the content, I'm wondering about barriers to entry and the level of investment needed to introduce a product. Do you think that the path forward for a new venture is to build a new AI platform? Or is the path ahead building on one of the large vendor platforms, such as IBM Watson? Thinking about Korbit, they spent 2.5 years on their efforts, that's a long road to get to market. I wonder how much they leveraged platforms vs. building their own. One more thing, padlet is giving me grief. When I post, it states that the page has changed and asks if I want to stay or reload. I made the mistake of clicking reload, and my post disappeared. I since tried "stay" which looked like it worked, but I know see that my posts have disappeared.

Team AI! So much information – I learned a lot. The intro survey was a great idea to get us thinking about what we know and don't know about AI (I knew very little). I also liked that you showcased different AIED options and created a discussion as to which we would prefer. My experiences with chatbots have left me skeptical that we can get AI tutors to generate/deliver deeper and creative thinking with students, but for more preliminary stages there is a lot of potential. On the other hand, if AI is going to drive our cars for us within 20 years or so, who knows, maybe someone will invest in developing the AI needed to take learning to a different level. Thank you for an informative and thought provoking learning experience.

Hi AI team! I definitely liked the survey as a start - it forced a layperson such as myself to recognize that I am indeed a layperson. And I think that that puts people more into an open-to-receive-information place. Like Sarah before me though I felt that it was a little wordy - TL;DR came to mind. The chatbot was a nice touch and kudos for creating your own - that's an above and beyond feature in my mind. I'm still super sceptical of AI though as a concept as I've seen I Robot and The Terminator so I'm of the mind that Dystopia is what awaits us.. But that's neither here nor there - your OER was super informative and detailed.

Hi AI team, I enjoyed your OER, especially how you started with information about the big organizations in the AI industry, then moved on to some smaller companies that have been around a while and finished with promising start ups. I’m also glad you played around with designing your own chatbot. It answered all my questions even when attempting some trick questions! All I can say on a more negative note is that there was a lot of text and detailed information. I wish I had more time to look deeper at some of the external links and docs you shared, but at least I know where to go if I need more info about AI technology. Well done!
