Hello Vincent, Is this your existing venture that is available for students already? It is amazing venture that you created! I really enjoyed going over your venture and your venture pitch. As we all know, Asian Market is very big. They see the educational as very important requirement in their lives. But this is not wrong. Educational is very important. I liked how you created the venture to help students to receive help going abroad to study. Your venture is very unique since I have seen many company that offer similar services as your but not online. They offer consultation and provide information on school for students who are willing to go oversea to study. Are you planning to expand your venture to be available for other countries as well? Great work!

REVIEW: Hi Vincent, the website was clean and looked very presentable. It was easy to navigate and told the story of what it is you are solving and offering. I was completely unaware of the market and its potential and you were able to not only make it apparent but entice me with the opportunity within that market. I am definitely interested in the opportunities but as this is outside my area of expertise and I would need more information on how I would be getting a return on my investment. Your venture pitch went over the minute mark and sounded robotic (I believe it was the program you were using). This caused me to disengage a few times and I had to catch myself. I appreciate the thoughtful reach towards the Asian market, as there is certainly an abundance of educational needs that could be connected internationally. As your venture pitch was presented in English, I hope that other languages may be supported to the same degree of fluency, to increase the user database. Nicely done.

Hi Vincent, this is a really really excellent market to tap into. The Study abroad market in Asian countries has always been pretty substantive, and with the Chinese students entering the market there is a lot of money to be made! I kind of saw this as like an AirBnB for students looking to find study abroad opportunities, and I am actually pretty surprised there isn’t anyone else substantive already in the market. Which begs me to ask the question, why not? What are the challenges that are in place in developing this platform? It would be interesting to see some analysis on that. One thing I think that also has a great impact on student satisfaction is cultural integration and environment. Your venture might benefit from also allowing students to pick an appropriate program while considering the cultural components. “Moving to Canada” for example could mean a lot of different things depending on which city a student ends up at, and some students might be more suited for the bigger city while others might want to be in a quieter city.

You have identified the market accurately; we have seen and are continuing to see an increase in international students applying for study in Canada, the US, the UK, and Australia. The demand for consulting services is indeed high as families pay good money for informed guidance. You have identified the competition really well, that so far, most consulting services are embedded within offshore schools in Asia, or they are agencies that families meet offline. I am always skeptical of these agencies, whether they actually have an accurate picture of the application process here and whether the agents have attended schools here themselves. I agree with your business model for the future: to expand into other Asian countries and in particular, to develop vertical integration. I don't think I see this service being offered today and certainly, families would greatly appreciate support once they land in the west. This service would set your company apart from the rest; it would say that your company cares for families whereas others stop caring once the business is done. Education is a very personal matter that would be best served by authentic care. As an EVA, I am optimistic about your venture and would invest in hipogoo.

While this is a service I have never needed, it was easy for me to see what the pain points were and how your product aimed to provide a solution. Your pitch was justified well and I thought you did a great job on your website. Your business model seemed well thought-out and the funding also made sense. I would have liked to have seen more explanation of the current market as I’m not familiar with it, as well as more information on the key players in the market. In addition, your venture pitch seems to be pitching to the users, not an investor. I would focus more on why investing in Hipogoo would be beneficial. With that being said, I do like that you’ve outlined some plans for the financing and future plans for the company. Well done!
