Greetings everyone! My name is Tyler and this is my 6th course in the MET program. I am also currently taking two other courses this term so I am very excited for the late nights and busy days in the future! I grew up on the island, having worked and attended Vancouver Island University where I obtained a bachelors of arts with a major in History and then completed my Bachelors of Education. I loved the island life however my teaching career sent me to Surrey where I have loved every minute. The only complaint I have about moving to the mainland is having to wait in a ferry line up to go visit family back on the island. I have been teaching grade 1 and or 1/2 for the last 6 years in Surrey. I love primary, never thought I would have been a primary teacher as I saw myself as a grade 6-7 teacher but ever since my first day I was put in kindergarten and stayed with them ever since.
I am very excited for this course to help me better my understanding of the hows and the whys behind technology and how I can implement new ideas learned in the program and from each other into my classroom.
In my free time I really love curling and will be ending the season with this term in April. I also drinking coffee, and visiting with my parents dogs (two Boston Terriers). I can’t wait to begin this class and working with you all. Good luck everyone!
