Gruezi, Hello, Hallo, Hola, Salut, Ciao from Swiss!

By Anouk on January 7, 2020

My name is Anouk,

I am Dutch, living in Switzerland since 2014.

Since 2010 I am working in the Education field, and Software / Elearning enterprise solutions (mainly for the Hospitality industry).  I have a bachelor in international tourism and hospitality, a master in international business communications, I am a certified (but not in practice) coach, and currently studying the exec certificate Learning Technology at UBC.  This is my 3rd module.

I am currently living in Zurich and when I am not working or studying I am spending my time in the mountains with tour skiing, skiing, hiking, biking or spinning in the gym. I am also a diver and a nature lover .. I prefer to be outside than sitting at a desk, but I have to say that my work is flexible and diverse which keeps me motivated.

I am Dutch native and speak English, German, some Spanish and some French. I have traveled the world for business and pleasure but there is still so much beauty to explore … if we do not destroy it all.

I am studying this program to add more value and knowledge into the work that I am doing. I would like to expand my experience and skills to become a consultant for corporate’s in learning and development solutions – but maybe my secret desire is my own learning platform for mountain sport & safety. I am fascinated by the new developments in learning and digitization in general ..  Still, not so young anymore, I have still my wish to learn better french, learn to sail and to play the piano one day ….. but even with technology in place .. it’s dedication, motivation and time that will make you master a new skill ..

I am hoping (slightly nervous) I will learn a lot from this new course and from all of you … and I hope I am a good study-buddy for you too here 🙂

Speak soon! Anouk

Hi Anouk, It's great to meet you and I am excited to work with you. It sounds like you have some incredible experience and have done a lot! I love your photo and your words about travel and the dedication and motivation to master new skills is most inspiring. I am really interested to hear more about your concept for a learning platform for mountain sport and safety. I don't live near any mountains (unfortunately - I love them!) but I am aware of how this must be a very important issue. How do people learn mountain sport and safety now? How do you see your platform fitting in and making a difference?

Bonjour Anouk, thanks for sharing this interesting background. When in France, I'm based near the border with Switzerland. That's also where I grew up. I admire your lifestyle, how incredibly lucky you are to be able to spend time in the mountains on a regular basis. Like you, I much prefer to be outside.
