Hello Digital Friends

By michael meroniuk on January 11, 2020

Hello,

My name is Michael, I currently work as a music educator for the Vancouver School Board. This is my second course in the program so far.

Fun Fact…. I only work as a TOC becuase I’m fortunate enough to also be a session guitar player. I get hired to tour all over the world by different band. I love doing both of these job because they both keep me excited about music.

As per interests I like writing, performing and playing music, powerlifting and doing a variety of outdoor activities.

I’m really excited to take what I’ve learned in this course and apply it to my classroom teaching. My plan is to introduce a Recording Technology Program, where students can get realworld experience recording original music using currently pro grade softwear and hardwear.

Looking farward to working with all you beautiful people.

Michael

Hi Michael, I admire people that have been able to pursue and commit to more than one passion in their lives! My fiance plays drums and so I get to see how rewarding it can be to have something more than just "normal work" to excel in. What kind of genres do you play? Also, your idea of a recording technology program sounds like it would cater to a gap in the market where there is currently none or very little supply. I am sure it would give students a leg up in the industry if they can start experimenting with recording music at such a young age.

Hi Michael, it's nice to meet you and I look forward to working with you. Fascinating that you get to travel all over the world and play guitar - you are very fortunate and that sounds like you have such exciting opportunities. Where was the last place you visited and where are you headed next? I really like your idea of introducing a Recording Technology Program to your class to provide real-world experience to your students. I think they would gain much insight from the process. I know if I were a student I would be excited and more motivated by such an innovative opportunity as part of the course work. All the best with your work and projects!
