Many of us have the experience of writer’s block. Moreover, while we may have been taught how to write the perfect 5 paragraph keyhole essay in high school, we are at a loss for how to approach 1000+ word essays in university. Essay Jack aims to demystify this process by walking students through how to organize their specific assignment.

I was really interested to hear this pitch and as an EVA I would say YES I would invest in this venture. There is a clear pain point with the overload students feel from content acquisition in lectures to construction of essays and assignments. I can appreciate the gap that this venture is trying to fill. I think it could do service a lot of students who otherwise could struggle immensely with the process of going from content acquisition and writing an essay. This is something I think a lot of students struggle with and which can become quite overwhelming. This program helps break down the process of conceptualizing something out of all of that information which makes it more manageable and achievable for more students. It’s simple for students to understand and clearly provides a solution to the problem of essay writing. I also think there is a point of differentiation to this product in its functionality and versatility with how students at different levels of competency can use it to fit their needs. The presenter was very straightforward and sincere in her pitch. I felt confident in her delivery and explanation of the product. This is why I would invest in this venture.

While this product is a very interesting idea, some of the features raise questions of academic integrity. For example, the ability to select sentence starters via dropdown seems very close to encouraging plagarism. As this product focuses on academic audiences, I would expect it to align and overtly affirm rules of academic integrity. Interestingly, the website states that this product was made for students by professors, so there may be details missing in the pitch that affirm academic integrity. I think the idea of the product is great and would be particularly helpful in our global education market. However, without an emphasis and alignment with academic integrity, I would not invest in the product.
