G-Interact!

REVIEW: Thanks for your pitch, Jessica! Your very effective Powtoon succinctly outlined a timely challenge and a clear and compelling solution; I particularly appreciated how G-Interact was "made real" in your pitch by including the icon image within the G-Suite. The bio helped to tell the story of the thoughtful "why" behind the business. From an arm-chair marketing perspective (and one that is mired in gender stereotypes), the logo colour choice connotes a femininity that isn’t necessarily congruent with the product. Also, when humans are the beneficiaries of the product/service, I think it would enhance your pitch to include imagery that supports that. In terms of the G-Interact solution, I'm not certain that its screen sharing feature differs significantly from that of existing screen sharing services. The pitch notes that "students can also use the digital whiteboard simultaneously with teachers in real time. This feature, specifically, will change the way online learning works!" I like the boldness of this declaration but as an investor I'm not clear on how this will change the way that online learning works. I appreciated the examples provided in the pitch (read alouds, quadratic formula) but they didn't resonate with my understanding of the adult learner, which is included in your Buyer market. For these reasons, I wouldn't choose to invest at the present time, but I appreciated the effort invested in your pitch.

Hi Jessica, I think this is a strong venture pitch. Your pitch was very well laid out and I was engaged the whole time I was reviewing your website. Mainly being, you kept building up to the abilities of your final product. At first, I was thinking...Google already has google classroom for class orginization. Google already has hangouts for video calling. At first I was doubtful. However, when you explained all the capabilities of G-Interact, such as why it would serve as a good investment, and how it ties together with other google applications makes this a powerful product. Google is already a popular name and having users access this additional application makes google even more of a favourite. The only problem I see foresee (if this were real) is being able to use google as an educational tool with Canadian students. I'm not sure about Newfoundland however, in BC we are unable to use google classroom due to student privacy concerns as data is stored in the USA. I've heard there are ways around it, however using a similar product under a different name may sit better with Canadian school districts as they would be the top market audience. Nonetheless, the pitch was excellent and I would invest!

Feedback: Hi Jessica. I enjoyed your elevator pitch--I am a PowToon fan myself and created my elevator pitch using PowToon as well. Your venture pitch is detailed and addresses all the areas a Potential investor might want to know more about including but not limited to its value to customers and investors, the product's competitive edge and the market status. As an EVA I would certainly consider investing in this venture.

(Feedback) I like the idea though I think you would want to target a particular subject area or grade-levels. As a high school English teachers, I would not have much use for this, however, math and science teachers would I am sure as well as lower grades. I would definitely look at competitors, Classroomscreen.com comes to mind as offering a very sophisticated whiteboard option. I know Zoom has one as well, though I have little use in my subject area for either of these. I like the idea of integrate with Google but I am afraid you will just get taken in by the big players. What about as an extension app for Chrome or other web browser--is there something that G-Interact offers that no other screen or whiteboard share applications have? I'd like seeing G-Interact offered in Google menu and the pie graph demonstrated some financial planning. Well done Jessica!

REVIEW: Jessica, I find this to be an excellent presentation and an overall very strong venture proposal! Your elevator pitch addressed the PAIN POINT and the SOLUTION but could have been even better with a brief mention of the DIFFERENTIATION and CHAMPIONSHIP aspects that are typical of strong proposals. Those elements, however, were NOT missing from your venture pitch, which did a great job of showcasing your well constructed team and some of the unique value propositions of G-Interact. I feel your MARKETING component could be stronger with more detail. For example, you say the product will “be marketed as an interactive educational tool to Google Classroom users and educators of any age group”? Are you going to target student users with advertising, or… what would that look like exactly? How would you reach existing G Suite for Education users? How about having a strategy that includes a sustained presence in online developer communities, or offering workshops at EdTech Team Google Summit events ( https://www.edtechteam.com/summits/) in your initial target area? I also recommend you consider availing yourself of the resources and business development opportunities at the Google Developers Launchpad ( https://developers.google.com/community/launchpad ). That would not not to help your team internally, but also provide increased credibility and exposure for your project! Good luck with this exciting venture!

Hi Jessica, Very nice presentation! I like that the problem you are solving is critical with the current global health pandemic. The demo on the features of G-interact is very interesting. Below are some questions I had after watching your elevator pitch. Do you have the skills to realize your product? What is your interest in solving this problem? Something about your background would have provided me with answers to these questions. Also, how is the market? Information on how many teachers are currently looking for interactive platforms to teach and maintain a supportive relationship with their students would be a good sell point. Your background on the page about the G-Interact team provides information about your skills and your interest in G-Interact. A bit of this information in the elevator pitch would help to catch investors’ attention straight from the pitch. The venture concept, the marketability, and the venture plan do a substantial job in presenting the problem and the solution with detailed features. As a potential investor, I couldn’t figure out how G-interact would make a benefit. I understand that Google is a company that generates lots of revenue, however, that is on their products. I did not see the possible market demand for G-Interact that would convince investors that G-suite users will buy G-Interact. I guess something like the number G-suite users or the number of people in need or already using technologies that provide them with similar service as G-Interact would have help. I thoroughly enjoy reviewing your work. It gave me insights I would use to enhance my venture. Thank you!

FEEDBACK: Thank you for your presentation of a relevant and timely app! Your pitch was engaging, and I was hooked, but I was left with the question if this functionality exists already within the G-Suite, and it seems that Google Hangouts performs the same screensharing functionality as G-Interact and has integration capabilities with Google Classroom, as well. How can G-Interact be differentiated to provide a service that goes beyond the functionalities of Google Hangouts? Thank you again.

REVIEW: Jessica, this is an excellent venture presentation, although i join you in the feedback that the part for the investor is slightly missing. However a good EVA would see the potential. A sharky company, like Google would probably take this over in a heartbeat without leaving you with a lot of ownership in your own hands. That is often the challenge with pitching an "idea" verus pitching an existing establishment. As this is not build yet, I agree with Matt. However would you have "bluffed" and mentioned that this was already up and running and that currently without being it a Google product it was used by % of the market, it would be interesting for google to pay you out and take it over. In this case (and that's only because I am not a real EVA ;-) I would not know if a company like Google would invest or just build it. I think there are also start up opportunities supported by Google and Facebook; so who knows .... Good Luck!! very well done - I love the video production.

FEEDBACK: Well this is a timely product! And you elevator pitch video is very well made. My son and daughter both just had online class meetings with their teachers via Google Meets (part of the G-Suite for Education) and a product like this would have been helpful, I'm sure. It sounded a little chaotic today! I think you'll have a difficult road ahead getting Google to hop on board. Zoom already does everything mentioned in your video and knowing Google's track record, they might just buy Zoom instead! Good luck!

I honestly really like this product and the time is now. Would you sell this to Google? Or do you work for Google? I'm a big fan of google classroom and G-interact would be a nice feature. I'm just curious how would I make money as an investor? I didn't see a section for what the consumer paid to use it. I would find it hard to invest in for that reason, but what a great idea! I hope you sell it to google and make millions. I enjoyed the layout of your pitch.
