SaniSenini Company

By Tyler on March 27, 2020

Greetings everyone!  I invite you to check out my elevator pitch for my new company “SaniSenini” . This company is focused on improving the way of life for people around the world.  With flu outbreaks and germs everywhere my company strives to help people stay clean without using alcohol sanitizer.  Many products from my company use pressurized air that blasts the skin for 30 seconds to keep the germs away.  We also have developed an app for your mobile device that allows you to scan areas to see how clean it is.  Look we live in uncertain times and my company has products available to help keep people clean.  I invite you to join me by investing in my company and becoming part of the family.

*Please keep in mind that this is pure fiction.  Have fun and let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Tyler

REVIEW: This venture is tapping into current very important concerns and addresses something we are all feeling. A healthier, safer world is at the heart of this venture and that is definitely a cause too many will feel the need to support, now more than ever. I really appreciate the solution and not having “dry cracked hands” from alcohol-based sanitizers!! Considering the current market situation, with the shortages in cleaning supplies and how everyone is going to be much more attuned to sanitary practices, I think that companies like SaniSenini are going to have a demand for their products and services. I like you this company in particular shows caring and accountability to its consumers with less harsh practices that are still effective. They offer both in-store and online purchasing options which can benefit their reach to consumers. Moreover, the company shows caring for both people and the environment and that is something that consumers can appreciate. The company has been around for a long time so is already well established in the market and as a family business has just entered into a second generation which implies investment by the CEO in the company. The purpose of investment would be to continue the growth of the company and advance their current offerings. Given the state of the world today, the market and the company’s background and history it would suggest being a safe venture to invest in, however I feel that I would personally like some more facts, figures and data before investing. They presented the projected growth and demand for sanitizers in a general state for the market, however I would like to know the performance of the SaniSenini products and how they compare the other competitors on the market. Also, I would be interested to know what advancements they have planned for their products and their business in particular. I think a plan for business growth in the next couple of years or something to indicate where they see themselves and their future growth and development would have been beneficial. Although one gets a good sense about what this company does and how it solves a problem and that there is a demand for the products, as identified in the reflection, I agree the weakness of the pitch is that there is not a very clear ask and return given for investors to make a clear judgement on investment. After reviewing this venture I still feel that I have questions about where the investment dollars are going and how they are being used and what the return would be for investors so as an EVA I would not invest in this company without more of this information to support my judgement.

Hi Tyler, I like your elevator pitch. You hit the most essential points, the problem, the solution, your skills, and interest. Because investors always check how they would benefit from investing, adding some information in the elevator pitch about the market would increase the chance to catch investors’ attention. A question I had after reading your market analysis was how you would sell and ensure a revenue on your product?

Hi Tyler, very interesting idea. I think one big thing that you have going for you in this venture is the reputation of the company, by giving the backstory of it being a family business, you having studied business and working under your father at SaniSenini, potential investors will immediately think of the business has having already established itself and therefore there is less risk in terms of investment. You also have an established workforce which will make producing the new products much easier. I would say though that I would have liked more info on the actual product, I'm very curious about what the nature inspired components are in the aerosol that can disinfect also on how the app works to screen your surfaces for germs. Sounds really cool! Finally, how will the product compete with the hand sanitizer market, I know you mentioned a figure of 23% of the market that dislikes those products and therefore your range would naturally appeal to them but this might only be if the price point is right. In these times, I think people are reaching for hand sanitizers of any kind whether they have a preference for them or not... so I think there has to be an added advantage to marketing your product that people would preferentially want to buy it. Just thoughts... Thank you though for bringing this novel idea to our venture forum and the well-designed website and pitches.

Tyler - Thank you for your work on this venture. I too was unable to access the direct link to the venture pitch. It asks for a Surrey Schools log in. As an investor, I'm afraid I must agree with some of the feedback given already - I'm unsure exactly how this product works, and how it is explicitly different from other products currently available. Because of this, I'm hesitant to invest because I'm wary about how this product would survive in a post-COVID world. Your company claims to be committed to being a green company, but aerosol products are becoming less and less popular in this context. Perhaps most importantly - I'm trying to connect this venture with the overarching theme of the ETEC522 course, that being ventures in learning technologies. I'm not sure I understand this to be an educational technology venture. With that being said, I appreciate your creativity and the easily navigational features in your venture platform.

Review: Hello Tyler, thanks for your work and creating SaniSenini. The audio of your elevator pitch was engaging and inspired trust. Overall, you do not give enough information about your product, it remains very mysterious which is not a good thing for an investor. You address a pain point that’s relevant in today’s world but I experienced cognitive dissonance when going through your pitches. While you did a good job at building a connection and inspiring trust, we are left wondering how a family business such as yours could have the technology to come up with the product you are describing. I think the way you’ve build the story of the company would work well if your product was something like tomatoes sauce, artisan leather gloves etc…but not a high tech product. There is also too much of a sense that's it's a fantasy company. However, I chose to review your pitch because despite some shortcomings, there is something engaging about your company and you use storytelling well to promote your venture.

FEEDBACK: The direct link to the Elevator Pitch did not work for me; it asks for a login but does not matter to me as you have it in the Weebly. You have a nice presentation. Your idea is interesting. I have to balance that you made it clear that this is a completely fake venture with the need for me to get into the role of a venture capitalist. You describe your company as a 30 year old company but nowhere do you say what you are asking for, are you asking for money from an investor? The market is established as you said; currently in the world there is excess demand for sanitizing products and after COVID-19 is over the demand would return to normal. I would have loved for you to say what differentiates your product or what value you bring to the marketplace. Using pressurized air sounds like a good idea but you would need to say what makes your product unique or what new solution you came up with. Meaning you could have “faked” some magical invention. Pressurized air products like aerosol sprays have a negative image and companies are moving away from them. If you have an out of this world idea to kill germs and viruses then I would have loved to hear about it.

Hi Tyler, Thank you for your pitch! Your overall pitch was good and easy to follow. The idea is really good and practical given the times that we are in. A point that I was interested to learn more about was, how does your product kill more germs than traditional hand sanitizers?

FEEDBACK: Hi Tyler, Thank you for your elevator pitch! It flowed nicely and your media and was clear and easy to follow. Your idea is an interesting one, especially in today's world. While I was viewing your elevator pitch you mention that your product can be used in place of traditional hand sanitizers. You don't mention why this is needed or a good thing though. This is what I would be looking for. The why your product is better or needed.
