Greetings fellow ETEC 522 Entrepreneurs and EVA’s,
I would like to present my venture, “InnerVisions VR”. This is a for-profit venture aimed at providing schools with educational recruitment solutions.
Hiring for any organization is difficult and hard to get right consistently. Teachers are hired all over the world everyday based on the traditional markers of a “good” employee, such as credentials, strong references and being great at interviews. These are all important things to have of course, but does looking great “on paper” always translate to being successful in a teaching environment? Based on my observations during 15 years of teaching experience so far at multiple schools, I would have to say that is not always the case. I have seen my fair share of colleagues over the years who were hired using those traditional markers of excellence, only to struggle when faced with the everyday realities of teaching in the classroom.
What if there was a way to test out potential employees in a simulated work environment BEFORE they were hired to see if they really possess the qualities that are needed to be successful in a particular school environment, and to see if they are the right fit for that school?
