Hello everyone,
I hope you are all keeping well and staying healthy.
I just came across this article which was published on Wednesday. The article reflects on recent events and the changes in the teaching and learning environment many are experiencing now. The author was part of an education technology start-up company for micro-schools in personal learning and draws upon his personal experience to deliver his advice on engaging students in learning when using technology.
Always fascinated by the topic of how to maintain engagement and connection in the digital learning space, I was very much interested by this this article and wanted to share it.
Here is the link to the article: https://www.edutopia.org/article/3-tips-humanizing-digital-pedagogy
I have a few questions that came to me for reflection and to generate discussion. I would be very interested to know your thoughts on this subject.
• Are you currently using any of these tips, and if so which ones?
• Are there any of these tips which you are not using but which see yourself incorporating into your teaching practice, and if so why? How do you think this will benefit you?
• What other strategies do you find important for improving connection and maintaining that “human element” as the author so puts it in digital learning space?
All the best everyone,
Emily
