Great points regarding content filtering. I think there will be a consistent issue with trying to control or manage access to particular content and efforts to circumvent censorship. Perhaps the solution here (if we are choosing not to control access to devices) is to focus on the personalization of learning to encourage self-regulation when it comes to access.

From my perspective, students working in geographically isolated communities (my primary area of interest for my research) can be well served by access to digital texts. It also can be used to support students who are frequently absent.

I am extremely interested in this topic. I think that proximity based learning has tremendous potential in sharing information at historical sites. Imagine walking around a historic battlefield, and using technology to augment the experience. This could be used to truly personalize viewers experience by providing language support, and also could assist viewers with exceptionalities.
