A.Tenten CEO Safe2Summit

My name is Anouk,
I am Dutch, living in Switzerland since 2014.
Since 2010 I am working in the Education field, and Software / Elearning enterprise solutions (mainly for the Hospitality industry). I have a bachelor in international tourism and hospitalty, a master in international business communications, I am a certified (but not in practice) coach, and currently studying the exec certificate Learning Technology at UBC.
I am currently living in Zurich and when I am not working or studying I am spending my time in the mountains with tourskiing, skiing, hiking, biking or spinning in the gym. I am also a diver and a nature lover .. I prefer to be outside than sitting at a desk but I have to say that my work is flexible and diverse which keeps me motivated.
I am Dutch native and speak English, German, some Spanish and some French. I have traveled the world for business and pleasure but there is still so much beauty to explore … if we do not destroy it all.
I am studying this program to add more value and knowledge into the work that I am doing. I would like expand my experience and skills to become a consultant for corporate’s in learning and development solutions – but maybe my secret desire is my own learning platform for mountain sport safety.

Thank you Matt, You are so right ... I wrote this also in my own review. I am not a very good designer and struggled how to put this all together.

Hi Aziza, thank you ! You are right ... this would be exactly the idea, to expand this to other sports. And to keep the diving sport, as there is is already happening like this as a "blue print" for the development of Safe2Summit.

Thank you Michael, actually that was my thinking ... i have pitched this "fake" venture several times and people are somewhat skeptical as indeed, it is not mandatory and they prefer to keep the mountain "open and for everyone". I do agree that more rules and regulations might have a negative impact, but I keep thinking about the diving sport where it is really out of your mind to go diving without knowing the risks and actions that need to be taken. Under the water you take much less extra risk if you know you are not having the right level or equipment. In the mountains often people just follow on another. I experienced this often myself, asking my friends "if something happens" do you know how to safe me? Or do i dare to say i know how I could potentially safe you... Anyways, I am letting my mountain passion speak, not the the EVA :)

Thank you for this great advice and feedback! It seems you know also quiet a lot about this topic. It is not a real venture although I really see a potential for this. Mainly as i think Padi also started somewhere and it became "normal" that everyone has a dive log book for fun but mainly also for safety purposes.

FEEDBACK: Dear Michael, I am leaning towards a REVIEW instead of feedback, as I do find your product incredibly interesting. I work in Hospitality management education with majors in culinary Arts. Our "DNA" is mainly the hand-on practical workshops and letting the student experience cuisine theory and practical arts with "famous" or local culinary chefs. We are currently doing everything online, and try to embed Video based materials. It is not easy as the video's are not our own and teachers make / or break often a course by putting their entire soul into this "art" - I think with your solution we could be really see a positive change. However the reason why I did not dare the Invests is, - I am not sure what the solution is that you offer. Is it the software, the hardware, the enterprise or a service? What do i buy from you as a consumer ? - And as an EVA, what is my ROI? How do you generate money. Is it a licensed product, a one off fee; i am not sure if i understood this correctly. Overall I think a very nice website and good product!! Curious to see this evolving. Thank you Anouk

FEEDBACK: Hello Carlo, very well done! great elevator pitch. I think you brought up a very essential product. As an EVA I am however not very sure what your service does better than others. As it seems there is a big overlap, and I am wondering if what you suggest as a main benefit of your service is actually possible (Would the other companies not have integrated this already? or would it be too expensive? and that brings me to questioning the ROI - how much money would you need to realize this? And what are you offering your investors? I think when you integrate that it could be a very solid pitch with some good potential!

FEEDBACK: Hi Kendra, I think you did a great job with this pitch, venture proposal and the idea itself. I am a slight be sceptical as I know there are many companies who then get "absorbed by larger ones"LinkedIn Learning is an American website offering video courses taught by industry experts in software, creative, and business skills. It is a subsidiary of LinkedIn. It was founded in 1995 by Lynda Weinman as Lynda.com before being acquired by LinkedIn in 2015. Microsoft acquired LinkedIn in December 2016" So your company has potential, however I think you need to enter a certain niche and a need, so you can start with a real b2b assignment and then penetrate it through individual users; as i think if you start this as a b2c solution it will be difficult to gain quick market share and there is not enough "work" or potential for any partner to participate. If the service is driven by an individual who wants to get better employability chance, then who is paying for his/her course, if its for free, who is paying the designer, if the designers get paid or as you write "on demand" by the companies, what is the guarantee for the company? Do you see what I mean maybe? I think the starting point should not be an individual who seeks work (although I understand this noble and need especially in this time), but it should come from the business or from governmental funding as that's were the money sits. Overall i think very well done; as I do share that we never seem to close the loop with education (academic). Schools recruit students, students study and graduate, try to get a job and need to get re skilled at the job, are made redundant / need to up skill or re skill,- this cycle is already making a big shift as we see in the developments of education. But we still need the market to adjust and offer "apprenticeship" Work& Study options, for all levels and functions. My 2 cents ... as I think that is were we should be going.

REVIEW: Jessica, this is an excellent venture presentation, although i join you in the feedback that the part for the investor is slightly missing. However a good EVA would see the potential. A sharky company, like Google would probably take this over in a heartbeat without leaving you with a lot of ownership in your own hands. That is often the challenge with pitching an "idea" verus pitching an existing establishment. As this is not build yet, I agree with Matt. However would you have "bluffed" and mentioned that this was already up and running and that currently without being it a Google product it was used by % of the market, it would be interesting for google to pay you out and take it over. In this case (and that's only because I am not a real EVA ;-) I would not know if a company like Google would invest or just build it. I think there are also start up opportunities supported by Google and Facebook; so who knows .... Good Luck!! very well done - I love the video production.
