Hello from Vancouver…

By Bass on September 3, 2014

I am a clinical resource nurse. This is my 5th course in the MET program. This course looks interesting because I would like to explore and learn the new language of technology and watch if any of these things can be applied towards the health care field to promote the quality care provided to our […]

Your confidence in your presentation was shown and your idea is unique but many aspects should be taken into consideration. Safety and ethical issues should be addressed. Plus, I don't really see the purpose or outcome of this procedure. As in investor, I don't find it ideal or applicable.

Feedback:This is a very interesting message and it is important to have a connection between school and home. However, it needs more clarification and there are many technology would do the job. Also putting your voice in would make a difference in your pitch.

Review: Your video really caught my attention and got me thinking and envisioning your product. It was well done. Your elevated pitch could have been more strengthened by explaining how and why your product would be competitive in the market. Your ideas came through very clearly. This is a very ambitious venture you have produced. I like your venture pitch more than the elevated pitch because it was well organized, well categorized and had more detailed information. This is a hot technology and I am definitely recommending in investing.

FeedBack: Your Elevator Pitch was clear and was presented in a nice method. The right amount of information was entered. However, as an investor I don't see the potential of the program to become something bigger. There are already many applications in the market that help student learn and organize their time. Your pitch could have also been strengthened by analyzing your competitors. Over all your pitch was well put together, and had the right information presented.

Feedback: You have presented your idea clearly and it was well done. You program is essential to many foreign people who are looking for an easy way to improve their English. However, your Elevator Pitch was very fast and gave me little to no time to read. There was too much information thrown at the viewer too fast. You offered a lot of data, though it was hard to follow along, showed how well-researched you were. Overall effort was shown and your ideas were presented smoothly.

Review: You went into details describing the problems and solutions. Your message in the elevator pitch was sent across smoothly but it was hard sometimes to follow. I found that your arguments were strong, and this product has vast potential. However as an investor, I would like to see more aspects, such as strategies for marketing. Overall, it was an impressive venture that many people can relate too and you did a great job explaining the potential of your products. As a health care specialist I am impressed with the technology and I find that there is a huge future outcome coming up, but, as an investor I would like to see a business plan in how the revenue can be achieved at this moment. I recommend your venture and give it the highest grade because of the benefits that dyslexic patients would gain and be independents in their communities. Your venture will be the hub for other medical and education related companies to develop and invest.

Feedback: I found that your elevator pitch presentation lacks more details and needs more clarification. There are many applications in the market now that would cover your product and are free of charge. I find that your platform is a prototype of other products. It would be better to narrow your focus and show what is so unique about what you are trying to offer. I know it’s a challenge in this revolutionized venture market but this doesn't appeal to me. Little work is needed but overall effort was shown especially, in your venture pitch.

FEEDBACK:The message was clear about your venture but the revenue won't be a lot because it isn't something that you daily use. Plus there are more competencies in the market with free programs. I would be more focused if I found some words connected to your elevator pitch. Your message was very clear and the way you introduced your message was appealing. However smartphone technology is cheaper than before and once the students have smartphones and connections to the internet, there will be no need for such an application. The data you offered showed that you were well researched. Little work is still needed, but overall, your effort was shown in the video.

Review: Your Elevator Pitch was straight forward and intriguing. You delivered a full thought-provoking and interesting message. You have many facts but some need more clarification. I don't think gamers would classify themselves as addicted and wouldn’t want treatment in the first place. Your venture was an interesting pitch because of the clear value this program provided. It was strong and was supported by convincing data. It solves real problems for real people. I like your PowerPoint voice embedded presentation; you showed well prepared and searched background and market analysis. Yes, I would like to invest in this venture but its market I see mainly should be focused on adults more than children.

8 Nov Posted on W10-Future Trends in Learning Analytics Discussion

Current Trends in Learning Analytics move towards assessing student’s engagement level. This will provide tremendous overview and detailed criteria used to the assessor or the instructor in how to improve the overall cooperation of the students. At the same time, that gives a valid and authentic tool for documentation of the student’s learning activities. I believe that such venture could expand the facilitator role and give more opportunities to focus on or improve other learning goals. In health care facilities, we implement this concept under different category but with the same goals. We collect the performance of all the departments of one facility on certain criteria such as handwashing, infection post-surgery or infection related to catheter insertion. Then, we compare it with other data from other hospitals in the region, the country and/or internationally (http://www.healthcouncilcanada.ca/rpt_det.php?id=481). All these data will be compared together with the criteria used to find out the performance level of a particular health care facilities or regions performance. Another example is found with the edudata Canada as posted in the website of this week activity. The performance of the Education facilities may also be compared by using the data extracted from assessing the students’ performance. In general, learning analytics could be a multi-disciplinary field involving learning, artificial intelligence, information retrieval, statistics, and many more (Chatti et al, 2012).
