Hi Stephen, I actually just threw a bright blue towel over the back of my office door and filmed against that. Imovie's blue/greenscreen seems to be pretty forgiving :)

Hello, interactivity is built into the program with the ability to interact with the guide through the platform. This is covered in the venture pitch and was one of the key selling points over traditional virtual field trips :)

REVIEW: (Reposted to meet week 13 guidelines...need to read instructions) Hi Chris, Sounds like this is an intrapeneurial venture and we are your google higher-ups. As a teacher, I love google classroom. I use it for just about everything and there are a number of things I wish they would add. My understanding though, is that google has stated they do not want google classroom to be a full blown LMS. Your presentation will have to convince them (us) otherwise. I like your added features. A parent portal would also be very welcome. As a corporation, I would like to here more about how these features will gain us customers. Are we losing customers for not having these features or are we alienating teachers by not having them. Survey data to support your chances will help your proposal to carry extra clout. As a higher up, I would consider your proposals but would like some extra data. Should these prove to be features that would attract customers from other platforms to us, I would seriously consider their development.

REVIEW: (Reposted to meet week 13 guidelines...need to read instructions)Hi Cole, I was unaware that BC did not have a social studies resource. Going through school in Alberta there was always a textbook for each subject. As a non-social studies teacher, your product is appealing to me. I would love to have a full program ready to go if I found myself in this subject. As an investor, the printing industry scares me. Print resources have thin margins and return would likely be small for me. I think that you might have more success looking aiming for a provincial contract to produce your resources rather than a venture investment. Being the standard resource will give you the wide distribution you will need to cash in and will give you the credibility you would need to expand to other provinces. I do wonder about the intellectual property rights as I'm assuming these were developed while you were employed by your school board. They might have a case for claiming this as their work product as you developed it for them while on contract. This would definitely need to be run past a very good intellectual property lawyer to prevent issues. Bottom Line: As a Ministry of Ed buyer, I would want to see some more samples of your work. Your foot is in the door, provided intellectual property issues are cleared up, and I would move forward to the business plan stage.

REVIEW: (Reposted to meet week 13 guidelines....need to read instructions)- Hi Aaron, Your product taps into the major trend of multiple means of representation as well as constructivist learning. This would make it easier for teachers to gather funding for a purchase. Excellent presentation skills. The polished look of your video makes me think, whether true or not, that it is you personally who could design and implement this platform. It is important in a tech based business that the person at the top have the necessary technical skills and the elevator pitch made me suspect that you do. My biggest concern would be that you seem to be relying on the BYOD model and all students having access to devices and connectivity. Incorporating a web portal separate from the mobile app where students can link in web content or other laptop/desktop created content might help to boost participate as between mobile and home computing you would have much higher potential participation rates and could leverage more school owned devices. Your pricing seems to be right in line at $1/student for similar types of products that I have seen. Again, very engaging presentation and excellent confidence. The use of educational and technological buzz words really builds your credibility. Bottom line: As an investor, I would invest!

Hello Stephen, Love PowToon presentations. They look great and make for a punchy and professional presentation. I seem to be particularly leery of hardware presentations to date. To minimize risk to you and your investors, might not an app for existing devices work as well? The features you propose should be supported that way and I think you might get faster uptake and a larger market share with a cheaper app than a more expensive device/app combo.

Hello Michael, I've done quite a bit of work on augmented and virtual reality throughout the MET program and the beginning of your presentation shows that your product aligns well with the affordances of this technology including immediacy and safety. I'm not quite sure that it is fully communicated to the investor why you would want to use expensive and less prevalent technologies like oculus rift rather than a web program. VR headsets will likely restrict uptake by public schools, a major segment of your market, and will not provide any financial benefit to your business. You may wish to consider focusing on a web application. This removes the need to split your resources among numerous platforms and would streamline your update process. It would also leverage existing school based infrastructure allowing a more rapid uptake. You do a good job of reinforcing the benefits of your product. Make sure we get a chance to see your face! Investors are going to want to know who you are as a person in addition to the details of your business.

This seems like an interesting use for beacon technology. The proximity based nature of the technology certainly lends itself to an outdoors/movement oriented context. I'm assuming for this presentation that we, the investors, are decision makers at BCIT. I would like to hear a little more about the benefits this technology provides. Would the same sort of outcomes be accessible through QR codes rather than beacons? It seems like QR codes have much greater public recognition and people know what to do with them as opposed to beacons which will take more training and public awareness.
