Hi all, You can access my Elevator Pitch here. You can access my Venture Pitch here. This was my first time using either program and it was a learning experience for sure! I most importantly learned that I need a computer that is capable to do more and handle video. I decided to create a […]

Week 10 Review
By danielle on July 19, 2014
Hi Week 10, Great job! Thank you for helping me learn about learning analytics, and surprisingly it was applicable at my job this week as I learned about an analytics company that we and many school districts use to monitor employees on call for all areas of a school board. This lets school boards know […]
Week 8 Review
By danielle on July 7, 2014
Hi week 8 group! You did a really great job this week, and it was a nice extension to the previous cloud themed week. I thought your Weebly looked very nice. I liked how you used a variety of sources including videos and also had us do our own research and create something. I did […]

App Review – Cyberchase Shape Quest
By danielle on June 20, 2014
I chose to use the game Cyberchase Shape Quest! by PBS Kids. The reason I chose this game is because I wanted to use a game that was available on multiple devices. This game supports Apple IPad, Android Tablet, and Kindle tablet. At first I thought this was a wide range, but on closer […]

Introduction, nice to meet you!
By danielle on May 13, 2014
Hi everyone, My name is Danielle and I am a public school teacher living in Vancouver. This is my first time using WordPress or blogging so I am very excited that I finally figured out how to use it! I can see that many others before me figured it out as well, so I knew […]

Feedback: This is a really great app. I had not thought about the use of an online management system that can be integrated with reports. It is really neat to integrate the classroom with the district and parents. I wonder if that is something that teachers would be interested in or afraid of. It sounds really neat though and I think I would invest in it. It looked very professional and was very logical. I wish I could try it out myself! I wonder if there is two way feedback between the parties involved, will it allow parents to message teachers? Great work!

Feedback: This is interesting and I can see you have done your research. I wonder if you offer anything unique that Google glass does not? I am also wondering (not knowing much about it) if your glasses will be compatible with apps for the Google glass. As I see the market in Android vs. Apple etc. for cell phones, I wonder if these glasses will be compatible with the software. Certainly one of the biggest reasons that Google glass is not everywhere is because of the price and I can see that you really understand that. Perhaps the price and compatibility and available apps would be good for the elevator pitch as well. Good luck!! Great idea.

REVIEW – This was a great idea and well presented. The elevator pitch was a video and was appropriate. It showed the market and the plan to expand in phases. It also introduced the team of experts working on the project. It introduced the concept of Course Coach and got me interested in the product. It explained the problem and how Course Coach would fix it, but I was not exactly sure what the product was based on the elevator pitch. When I went to the Venture Pitch, this was much more evident as I could see that it is an online platform that assists students and instructors. I liked how the venture pitch was broken down into parts so that I could see the details of the problem solution, team, market and revenue model. The question I had was how would this be presented to students? What about those students who do not have smart phones or wish not to participate be dealt with? Is this something that could be easily replicated in the institutions or as a part of the online learning platform (for example Blackboard)? Overall I think it is a great idea and I would invest!

Feedback: This was a very professional looking website and an interesting topic. I watched the elevator pitch and liked that you provided a choice to watch the video or view the website. I agree with Jonathan that it might be helpful to move the links to the elevator pitch and venture pitch at the front of the website, but I still found them pretty fast. I thought it was a good idea to lay out the different investment options. Perhaps I missed this somewhere, but I was not sure what the different direction was that you were taking with the product, but I still liked it and thought it was really well presented. You are a really great web designer!

Feedback: That was very unique and interesting. The video you used really captured my attention from the beginning. I could see this being a niche market with many enthusiasts investing. I like that you reserve the right to claim a portion of the findings! I could see this working as a free app with paid features. I am wondering how big you think the market is for this app and how much investment you are looking for? I really thought it was well presented, I would use it in class! Great work.

Feedback: I thought this was a very interesting idea and I like the video. It looked professional and modern. I had a little bit of trouble reading everything that was on the screen. I would have liked to have a bit more time for reading especially the pages with a lot of content. Based on the elevator pitch, I wanted to know a little bit more about the product itself. Who is able to access at home? Is it just the doctor or can the patients access medical records too? I wondered how much it costs. Still, very practical and professional looking.

REVIEW: This was a great and well presented idea. I thought that the elevator pitch was really well done. It looked very professional and had a logo. The images matched the content and it looks like a very useful tool. I think that the games are a great way to enhance learning especially for younger students. Business English and exam prep are two contexts where I could see users getting really excited. I liked that you identified the market and the current competition and identified their gaps. I might have explicitly had a section called “The Competition” where you discuss the competition so that it is more obvious that they are your competition or perhaps have it at the top of the screen when you present them. I was just confused for a minute at the beginning of the first one (English Town). I liked that you numbered and explained the solutions as well. The only real thing that might enhance the experience for me would be to have more of the content listed, there were some lists that I thought might have been useful to see. I was also wondering how interactive it would be, are their different levels of class like part time or full time? Is there a guarantee of time that you have with a person? You also discussed the financial structure in what I thought was a great way. I think online learning is the future. Well done!

Feedback: I thought this was a great idea. It is strong because it is quite useful for teachers and students who are interested in using the images as well as anyone interested in creating content using photos without paying copyright fees, however, I am wondering if on an individual level we would want to pay to access these photos. I wonder if perhaps you said what the price would be that would answer that question. I think that teachers and students would be excited about it if it were marketed to the districts and then were able to be used by teachers for free.

Hi Colleen, Sorry, I just realized that the tabs had drop down boxes and I found the price! They are great but quite expensive. I might recommend looking for a partnership with a charity to subsidize them so that it is less daunting for investors. What do you think about that?

Review: I thought that your elevator pitch was very engaging, your name makes sense and it is a very good idea. I also liked the pictures that you provided. It intrigued me so that I wanted to see your website to see more about how it would work. When I went to your website it looked very nice and I was surprised to see the information about autism. This made it seem even more important to me and I would suggest putting that specifically in the elevator pitch. I was wondering if it is marketed to Catholic schools? I am also wondering how much you think this would cost? Is it something the parents would purchase or do you see it as something that the school districts would purchase and provide to students who are recommended by a school counsellor or school psychologist. I saw that you would like to get an educational grant which is great, but I wonder how much something like this would cost on top of the cost of Google glass. Other than that I really liked your website and elevator pitch and I never would have thought of this, it is great!
