TeachArch
By ebru bengisu on March 25, 2018
Hello all, I present you: TeachArch, a new computer aided architectural design software that makes possible to work with 3D printers and VR technologies without the burden of file converting and quality loss. I have exceed the 1 min limit on Elevator Pitch, since I had trouble with pronouncing some of the words, so I […]
Immersive VR Education Analyst Report

As an interior architect two research areas seemed more interesting to me in terms of creating a new venture: 3D Printing and Virtual Reality. As you will participate in our Opportunity Forecast OER next week on 3D Printing, I wanted to focus on Virtual Reality and its possibilities to be implemented in developing countries like […]

Tyler Bosmeny has co-founded Clever an online learning software platform used in 1 in 4 schools in United States. It caught my interest with this impressive statistic as well as his company was listed as one of the top 100 promising companies in America. Background: Tyler Bosmeny has a BA in Applied Mathematics and MA […]
Hello from Greece!
By ebru bengisu on January 7, 2018
Hello all, I am Ebru and I am an interior architect originally from İzmir, Turkey, now living in Thessaloniki, Greece. (The photo is the famous White Tower in Thessaloniki). This is my 7th course on my MET journey, previously taken ETEC 500, 510, 511, 512, 531 and 532. I am surprised and happy that this […]

Brian, from your T-shirt to your amazing energy, both your Elevator and Venture Pitch have created great excitement and hooked people from the start! I think your pain point is well thought and the solution you are proposing can make people say "Why I haven't thought about it first?" You have a rock solid product in terms of the sources you have. Steam is one of the leaders of the industry and already been reaching out to millions of people, and as SteamEdu you have created this new product that is very well produced. However, as Cassy pointed out, I also waited for an ask for capital. You have an Ask, that's for sure, but it gave the overall impression of a marketing presentation and not a pitch. If I was a venture capitalist watching this video, I would be confused, as you have already doing what you've asking from me. I liked your presentation, it is very well structured, I can make a small suggestion though, I think YouTube allows captions at specific time frames, so for instance when you show the Valve Team you can put a link or info bar on the top of the screen linking us to the site. I applaud your energy, and wish you well on your venture.

Shannon, I can actually see you as a CEO. In both your Elevator and Venture Pitch you give me an impression of a passionate CEO who also knows the system and bureaucracy. Your pain point explanation was brief and the solution you are proposing is highly needed among teachers. In terms of differentiation, I have the same question as Scott, since there are other methods to access from dummy email accounts to generic disposable email address services. I do not know the system in Canada, is parental consent required for these dummy emails as well? You planned your marketing strategy very well, I especially liked that you thought about price differences for bulk registrations. I have already said that you give the impression of a CEO who knows the system but for someone like me who does not have pre-knowledge about Canadian Education System, it got overwhelming at times. I was also confused that in the middle of your venture pitch, all of a sudden, you have switched from your future plans to Richard Culata, and thought that he was one of your team members. I think the images and the design of that particular section fooled me, since he was the only person with an image besides you, and his title was shown for a brief second. I believe that both your elevator and venture pitches tick many boxes for a good pitch, thank you for your efforts.

Thank you Dana Jessica and Zain for a great way to complete our 12 Week journey with OERs. Personally I have never thought designing a book can be that easy and enjoyable so thank you for introducing these apps to me, secondly I was happily surprised to see how widely digital textbooks are used in classrooms, for us in the developing countries we still has a long way to catch up with the numbers that we are given, it takes time to break down the prejudices since the interactivity of digital books are still be seen as "games" and not serious studying. It takes time :)

Hello Dana, Thanks for the fun OER. I knew what Kitab means because in Turkish the book is Kitap! Anyway, I like your quick surveys at then end of each page but I believe the survey in Part 1 Chapter 1 did not like my name because it gives me an "incorrect inputs sent" warning. I have completed the form for Part 2 and I'm looking forward to participate. I will edit this post with my two takeaways as soon as I complete Part 2.

Hello JoAnna and Sharon, I really liked your OER and I think it is itself a good example of microlearning. I like the activities and the videos provided. I especially liked your comment section in the application page. Which software did you use? Lastly, thank you very much for a very comprehensive list of resources. I would like to add that if anybody is interested in podcasting, you can check the website that we have done last semester here: http://etec532podcasts.weebly.com/tools.html

Hello Aaron. I really enjoyed your take on all of the four areas and how you relate all to each other. The construction of the site was well-thought and the navigation was fluent. Although there were a couple of activities at the end that I have not managed to complete (In Section 3, Option B's forms required some sort of permissions) I found them engaging and educative. I appreciate your initiative and wish you the best. Ebru

Thank you for all your effort and creating this comprehensive website that is very fun and informative. I had quite a time thinking about the questions you have posed in the proof page, and also loved the games you have chosen in Wondeville. Plus a comprehensive market analysis and a monetization scenario for future ventures. I appreciate your hardwork, thank you very much

I find this particular investment close to the Clever the company that I have chosen for this week. Like Clever, Schoology offers a compatible LMS with the many needs and learning styles. I personally like this investment because of this reason and I also found Mr. Friedman as a strong role-model as he is successful in a market that he was originally did not receive education and also for building a friendship and eventually a venture with his friends from the college. It is hard to maintain relations after college let alone building a company together, so kudos to him.
