The Khan Academy is a non-profit organization, so the ROI is not a monetary one. For organizations looking to make a difference in the lives of kids and students of any […]

The sponsorship model and cost are outlined in the Word Document I have attached. They are based on our first sponsorship and may be modified in the future. Here is the current cost breakdown: Cost Summary Program costs include IT, operations, service, maintenance and reporting costs. These program costs add up to around $1 per child. Promotional cost is around $5 per child. Cost Breakdown Annual Program Costs are $2,000 in the first year and then $1 per confirmed family user in subsequent years to a maximum of $2,000. Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) increases are permitted based on government published inflation data. Program costs include… 1. Unlimited access for each child for up to 7 years (K-6) 2. Facebook, banner and print creative 3.Facebook Ad posting 4.Daily Facebook Monitoring and Facebook Response 5. Customer Service Response 6.Program Maintenance 7.Monthly Reporting Annual Promotional Costs (Facebook Sponsored Posts) are budgeted at $0.02 per person in the area of coverage. If your geographic area contains 600,000 people then the Sponsored Post annual budget is $12,000 (600,000x.02=12,000) So the cost varies slightly depending on the needs of the service club and what their goals are with the program. Thank you for your feedback :)

Hi Jordan, We are aiming to receive sponsorship from community service clubs (Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions etc.) They are quite successful service organizations that have an aim to help with community literacy already so we see it as a perfect fit! Many of these clubs have difficulty gaining new members and staying relevant in their areas. We want to help them with that! Thank you for your feedback, I will turn the word document in to a PDF. :)

Hi Moumita, It is an online program. We implement it to our sponsors through a widget that they insert in to their website's code. This is outlined more clearly on our website. Infographics is a great idea! That would help us be more clear. We are targeting community service organizations (Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions etc.) Thank you for your feedback :)

Hi Mark, The program content was developed by teachers in Ontario so it is up to the standards of the Ministry of Education at a provincial level. We do not intend to use our program in schools. The company that created the content is involved with schools but that is separate from this free program we are offering parents and families at home. The progress is tracked, so students can view their average score and how much of each unit they have completed. We plan to just focus on literacy. We have other subjects that we offer for sale but they are not affiliated with this program :) Thank you for your feedback!

The Rotary Club of Scarborough is our first sponsor! This program was launched in June, 2016. Once we have more, we would love to list them.

Interesting idea, very connected to current trends among youth. I am left wondering, if teachers struggle implementing relatively “old” technology into their curriculum, how will they find the time to create an augmented reality for their students? Although gamification is proven to help increase engagement, it is difficult to implement and does not suit a variety of learners. Your marketing and sales ideas are also a bit of a concern. Students and teachers cannot be forced to buy apps, it would be up to the school board to provide this in their schools. I love the idea of helping others in developing nations as a social venture, but you would need a large amount of money to provide what you have promised to them. I know this is a fictitious venture; however you need to have taken in to account how it is going to grow. You have assumed massive success and profits, but that is highly unlikely and another course of action/plan while you grow would be excellent to see.

Hello! Yes the founder is my dad, we have been working on this together for the past year. It is quite different from a usual venture as we are a social business, but I am glad you took the time to get to understand the program!
