Hi Kate, a very persuasive pitch! The format of the website matches so well with a clip of yourself each page, made me think of TV series and Podcast series. As I browsing through each page it felt like solving a mystery. The background information of yourself, and your experience with language learners is very persuasive, and makes me want to learn a new language. Amazing website!

Hi Molly, Your website is very easy to follow and very professional. Program Ready would be very helpful in many cities in Canada, as there are so many international students visiting Canada. I personally feel the "Collaborative Learning" option is amazing. Many international students could end up studying alone and it can be quite frustrating. One question I had as I was going through the page- there's frequent mention of Ontario students and Ontario Colleges- but Program Ready can be used for any international student transitioning into a college program in Canada? Overall, I really enjoyed it!

Hi Henna, I really enjoyed the 12 slides of the Venture Pitch and how it was presented. The images you used were creative and easy on the eyes. Your statement in the beginning that women are, "under-represented and underfunded" is eye opening. It's a true fact but many of the times it is ignored or forgotten. I think the Elevator Pitch was slightly longer than the others, which made it harder for me to stay engaged. However, having you as the face for the Elevator Pitch, made it more convincing and it was powerful than if you had used animation.

During the year of 2011, I think I could see how it was very popular. Currently, there are so many ways to keep reminders or to communicate. I think it would be important for an app to be user friendly for all ages. Although the numbers you presented, "over 23 million active users including educators, students and parents and over 90% of US K-12 school districts are using the app." is quite interesting. I like the analogy of riding the bike. It is important that the founders personal experiences has been taken into consideration. Thanks for this post!

I think this would be something I would use in an elementary class setting. It is true that, "Many teachers mentioned classroom management took up the most of their time." It would be helpful to begin at an early age/grade and if both teachers and parents were consistent about using the app. Growth mindset is something I feel that students struggle with in their daily lives. Thanks for the post!

I think it is great to see more women CEO/co-founders. Also kind of cool that both have very similar educational backgrounds. Plus, this offers opportunities for the busy working adults. The numbers you presented 30% of working adults without a high school diploma and 70% of the total US population without college degree.

I like how they filmed the making of the scenes. It definitely would be dynamic and make it exciting for the learner. I think the real life scenarios are stimulating and powerful. ImmerseMe supports all kinds of learners, but those who are visual learners would benefit the most. For any learner, applying the learning in real life is the challenging part. Around a minute, "the fear of making mistakes.." but making mistakes are part of the learning. The virtual reality aspect allows the feeling that you are no longer with a person, which reduces embarrassment, allowing to increase your confidence to learn more. This is an interesting approach in learning language. I feel that ImmerseMe also allows you to learn geography; cities around the world.

Yes, I would invest in the FOCI. The statements with focal points with facts keeps the audience engaged. A device that sounds like essential tool in our daily lives ( affecting the 6 mind states), it is simple to use, the presentation on the app looks very appealing. The FOCI is targeted for a very large pool of people. Even the busiest people would be able to use this device. They discuss the problem (lack of focus) and state in ways to increase it. Data collection along with the clip, tracking motion of breathing sounds interesting.

The idea of a robot/automated voice leading a conversation may allow a continuous flow of questions and answers between the learner. Individuals learning a new language would benefit from this program. As well as, individuals with special needs wanting to practice their social skills. This program can also be an option for individuals who are shy and need 1 on 1 practice.

I think that apps are wonderful for any students using devices to learn. It’s only challenging for teachers to find relevant and useful apps that contain materials they are trying to teach. Apps serve as more than just a source of entertainment as they often contain menus, tabs, options, etc. which students must navigate through. Over time, students will be able to hone their logic and navigational skills that could be applied in real life or other apps.
