Hi Judy! I think ways to assess which medium is most needed and checking for understanding are very important aspects that we could integrate into our OER in order to extend it. In answer to your questions, the way to assess which medium is needed can likely be achieved simply be asking your students (either on paper or digitally via something like a google doc). A way to check for learner understanding would be to have some sort of knowledge output system, in which a learner either takes a test or reproduces and shares the new knowledge that they have learned in some way. Even just hosting a good class discussion could be a valuable way to both check and extend learner understanding. I'm glad you found our site so easy to navigate and that you enjoyed the content :)

Hi Abraham, the obvious go-to here in the technology and software we don't yet have but that will certainly assist with time usage in the future. An intermediate solution I might suggest is to have it be more student driven, and allow individuals or groups to propose and create their own learning paths that the teacher then guides and moderates as they progress. Hi Silvia, I like the idea of a landing page option to proceed! Perhaps we will re-integrate that into a revision. Personalized learning will very much rely on technological integration, which means that it will take little to no time or work for a teacher as the AI systems will develop and create a program for each student. It will also then be able to just show an instructor the data on how much time a student is taking to complete tasks and how well they are achieving them which the instructor could use to give followups to either students or parents depending on the context :)

Hey Abraham, what a professional and well rounded venture pitch! I was very impressed with the quality and content that you presented, and I think your idea is a valuable one for the current work climate and key challenges that currently exist in trade related jobs in Canada. Some small feedback: I would have loved it if your elevator pitch included speaking of some kind, as the more powerpoint and backtrack based media made it a little bit less impactful. I also have a question: where and how do you see these solutions being implemented? Would they be services provided at university or pop-up VR salons or business offices that people can come to for consultations? Great work on this project!

Hey Charmaine, what an excellent and insightful tool! My mother actually helped co-create one we are now using in schools across South Africa called the Virtual Reading Gym (https://www.virtualreadinggym.co.za/) which has been received with great success. Overall, your pitch was well put together and hit all the major information points required. The only real nitty gritty feedback I have is that there was a lot of reading content that got a bit overwhelming after a while. It may have been nice to break the content up with a little more imagery or use means other than textual to convey information, but that really is just picking hairs. Good job overall!

Hey! Thanks for this feedback - I was planning to base this in Cape Town in the university and college district so that it is easy to access for students. I guess I should have made that more prominent in my pitch and will certainly add it to my reflection. I see how the text colours were a little misleading, we wanted to find a way to highlight key points, as if the text had been read and highlighted! But perhaps we should consider a different visual approach for that intention. Glad you enjoyed it :)

Hey YoonJu, I really appreciate this question because in many of my environments (South East Asia and Southern Africa) technological constraints are a real issue! At the moment PL is also so technologically focused that not many solutions are being put forward for technologically limited environments. The way I would possibly think about solving this problem, is having a technology/curriculum that guides the teacher (i.e. the teacher is the one interacting with the program, inputting data and getting feedback and suggestions) that they then translate into their classrooms. For example, the teacher puts in information on each student and their skills and abilities into a program and it puts out 3/4 different projects that you give to different groups of students depending on their capabilities. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for this? I'd love to discuss it further and see if we can come up with any appealing solutions!
