While gamification is a hot topic for the future of education, as an EVA, I would not invest. Education games have not done well to date and I think that part of it is because students are very conscious of the fact that the game is trying to get them to do something, where as the motivation in playing games for fun is much more subconscious. I'm also trying to understand how this would work for a classroom where not all the work may be computer-base. I really liked your character sheet though and can see students enjoying having a character and attributes, items, and badges.

Hi Galina, thank you for your comment. SAI is an e-learning authoring tool at heart which is why Captivate and Storyline were used as competitors, focus was on personalization as it is one of the main things that other e-learning tools do not offer. However, I can see it scaring teachers away and as Bryan pointed out, this is a product more appropriate for instructional designers than teachers. Yes, a demo to show the product in action would be helpful and I will include that in future pitches. Thanks!

Hi Bryan, thanks for your feedback. You are right, this is a product more appropriate for instructional designer. As an instructional designer myself, I am remiss to not have included my own trade as a target audience. I will certainly rethink my marketing strategy. Yes, this product would have to be hosted on an LMS, but my competitors in the e-learning authoring tool industry (Captivate, Storyline, Lectora, etc), do not provide LMS either. If you were to think of this is a cabinetmaker's workshop, I am looking to sell the tools rather than the entire workshop itself, because as you pointed out building and running an LMS is a massive undertaking, not to mention extremely expensive.

Hi Andrew, thank you for your feedback. The $120 would be paid by the user, this may be the school board, school administration or individual teachers. I can understand users feeling overwhelmed and that if this product was to continue, tutorials and an accessible product support team would be advantageous. Thanks again!

Both your elevator and venture pitch were attractive, but I am unable to invest in this venture. I did not get a strong sense of how your product were different from your competitors. Second language learning is a very competitive field and I would be concerned as to the viability of this venture compared to all the second language learning options that already exist.

I enjoyed your creative elevator pitch and you've given some great details to this pitch and I particularly like the fact that the reading level will be adjusted to the user. Unfortunately, I would not be able to invest in this venture as I feel that some more details need to be fleshed out. Firstly, I feel that you may be facing some strong competition with the push for virtual reality to be used in museums (i.e. the British Museum launched it for a weekend trial last year). While your technology would be cheaper, technology tends to decrease in price, and as VR decrease in price, how will your product stay competitive? Secondly, you mentioned that users can turn off the functionality to view gift shop items. This sounded like from your pitch a major point to your venture to increase revenue through gift shop sales. If that is the case and the functionality can be turned off, how would this impact the attraction of revenue generated by your potential buyers? As an EVA, I would invest in this venture. Excellently executed videos and great pitches in general. I appreciate your identification of a niche market, but I think the numbers you provide shows that despite the seemingly small 2% of the population, in the grand scheme of things, this 2% translate to a large number of people who can make use of this product. I like that the character can be superimposed into the user's environment. However, when it comes to the video, would it simply flipped back to the originally illustrated story? If not, how would you determine where things are in this new scene? (i.e. every user's bathroom may have their shower in a different location, or the public bathrooms may have different numbers of urinals). Great job, Jason. I wish you every success with your venture.

As an EVA, I would be interested in investing in this venture. Your pitches are to the point and well put together (I particularly appreciated the demo), and you've clearly outlined the pain point and market opportunity. As mentioned by previous EVAs, I am concerned about the low price point not being able to cover the cost of operations. Another concern, also previously mentioned is the lack of understanding that some seniors may have in regards to technology such as smartphones. A suggestion is that a tech support line can be made available for paid versions and maybe a pre-recorded tutorial for the free version. (Not sure if your live video chat was for tech purposes or strictly for the assessment.) I also agree with Joshua about the name. I am also curious if there is any alternative available for seniors without smartphones. Overall, great product. Good luck!
