The LIT platform supports teachers and students to collaborate […]

What if there was only one app you needed for all your work-life productivity? This one app would be simple enough to appeal to casual users but also robust and techie enough to handle the most demanding tasks. David Piece of The Wall Street Journal 2018 article inspired me to try […]

My name is Kevin and this is my second course in the MET program–this semester I’ll try to take two MET courses (ETEC 530) and teach a full load of junior and senior classes…I hope I can do it. I’ve been a secondary teacher of English for about 15 years. For the last five years […]

Hi Paul, I am impressed--you are were articulate and you quite thoroughly pitched your platform. I like your byline and degree to which you grounded your service on theory and research such as TPACK but in very practical sense. Excellent discussion of the different metrics and means to differentiation you used. I understand that there is nothing quite like this on the market which you pitched very persuasively. However, I wonder a potential area of growth or marketing would be within the conference circuit such as CUE (computer using educators) or more globally with college preparation curricula such as AP and IB spheres. Very professional and comprehensive pitch!

Thank you Mel and Emily, I appreciate your review so much and suggestions! Emily I really liked your Foodiki venture though I was not officially assigned to review your venture--it was one of the first I looked at. Thank you for taking the time to write such a though review. I'll change the title from Business Plan to something else and add a section more about the competitors--great ideas. In your venture I really liked your layout and design on Prezi--not cluttered but detailed nonetheless with an appealing upward line. The menu of activities you offered was quite exhaustive and smart. Your elevator pitch was thoughtful and to the point and good brand image too.

(Feedback) Hi Greg, I like the marketplace site and of course I believe in the relevant importance of this venture. I agree with To everyone else that a video would be more effective, even with just you pitch your idea enthusiastically. I would suggest too that you look into Design and Entrepreneur classes at the middle school level. For example in IB MYP (middle year program) students from grade 6 start learning the design cycle--maybe you could discuss that aspect of production and learning that would result. In Singapore at Canadian International School--their STEM program (k-12) replace the E for Engineering with E for Entrepreneurship. I am certain their curriculum goals and galleries are available. Many international schools have market days in which a similar market design to sales and pitch process is followed. Finally, would suggest considering how maker movement and maker spaces would be utilized and encouraged through your platform.

(Feedback) I like the idea though I think you would want to target a particular subject area or grade-levels. As a high school English teachers, I would not have much use for this, however, math and science teachers would I am sure as well as lower grades. I would definitely look at competitors, Classroomscreen.com comes to mind as offering a very sophisticated whiteboard option. I know Zoom has one as well, though I have little use in my subject area for either of these. I like the idea of integrate with Google but I am afraid you will just get taken in by the big players. What about as an extension app for Chrome or other web browser--is there something that G-Interact offers that no other screen or whiteboard share applications have? I'd like seeing G-Interact offered in Google menu and the pie graph demonstrated some financial planning. Well done Jessica!

(Feedback) Hi James, I really like the details that you provided for your beta roll-out and the items you offer in the premium are attractive to customers. The competitor chart is quite useful and gives an idea of how your own app may gamify competition. I definitely feel that there is a market for this. Your elevator pitch and venture site are professional and quite thorough. There could be a more detailed reflection part. I would recommend looking at Cass' Symbolab pitch which also features solutions for mathmatics--she did great job as you did on presenting the features and the marketplace. Her and I were late with our assignments so I wouldn't mind a little feedback as well.

(Feedback) Hi Robert, I really like your idea and the podcast format is intriguing and demonstrates some risk taking. Actually, last year I attended Apple conference in Singapore that was about using the Apple watch and other devices in all in sync simultaneously, there was excellent demonstration with the speaker's heart monitored as a virtual object on stage--I wonder if that video or images are available--it was at Canadian International School Singapore. That school is all Apple device school K-12 and does some innovate things with Apple products might be worth finding evidence what they do in their maker-spaces. Anyway, what would be great if you could provide Venture information sheets so we could see the breakdown of features and more about your competition. I love podcasts and at their best they provide a narrative structure with possibly a monologue component, I am thinking of Team Human, Radiolab, and This American Life--if you could do that structure with musical interlude or intro or outro ambient music that would bring some professionalism to the presentation. It was clear and strong idea that might work as enterprise. Try to show us more of the possibilities--some podcasts have visual infographics or broadsheets such as Radiolab does and On the Media. Good job Robert, I really respect your talents!

(Feedback) Hi Cass, I wanted to offer you some feedback since I know you and I were a bit late to turning in this assignment. As a secondary teacher, I can well understand the challenge you must face to teach complex college-level material and course-related tasks successfully. Your venture is really excellent and comprehensive, professional and detailed!. I like you elevator pitch is quite thorough and possibly too much--it is 2 mins to the extent you could edit it down some that might be important, though it informative it could use some hard sales line. You could have short and extended video if there is time for that. I did know what "pain points" are, maybe that is my failing--maybe explanation is needed more in your reflection which was a bit short anyway. You did wonderful job comparing and contrasting competitors and presenting the finances and your subscription model. I really love how you emphasized the different features Symbolab offers both past and upcoming--clear and thoughtful. Btw what did you use to make the video on slide 4? That was simple and yet well designed. If you have chance please give me some feedback though my effort doesn't compare so well with your accomplishment. Well done Cass!

(Review) Hi Kendra, I love the home page (GradHat) of your site I felt that clearly articulated the many services you wished to offer. I would like to know more about your competition and the phases of development that you predict you would need for this company to grow. Though I liked your literal take on the elevator pitch, it comes over a little flat especially without any images or personality to dramatize the pitch. If you could give more details about the courses and style of instruction that would help me decide if I would invest.

(Review) Hi Ram, I appreciate your critique of the educational system and the problems, however, I know that you could provide much more detailed solutions. I would suggest just focusing on a couple of solutions you could bring to market in the first phase. Something that is tangible and innovative. I am not sure what that might be, instead of hiding that behind proprietary secrets--disclose what instruments or means you will use to solve problems.
