Digital Simulations as solutions for work skills is a budding market in education it is absolutely the race for the top within the sub-genres of e-learning. Vocational training being an emerging market as it has traditionally been viewed as “hands on” training (Rebbeck, 2014). This market of digital tools is building upon an existing market […]

Hello my fellow ETEC 522 students! My name is Lori Jones and I am so excited to be in the MET program. I am especially looking forward to looking at how emerging markets are being influenced by the tech boom, whether that is software or hardware. I have been tinkering with programming and the maker […]

Phillip, I really like that you took the market not only to the education sector but to the business sector as well. The product has versatility for sure. I am glad you included the video on Minecraft in real life as that is what I thought of immediately upon seeing your elevator pitch. I think you covered the market research well, I did find myself wondering how this would be better than LEGO in all honesty, perhaps you could expand more on its unique properties a bit more.

Well done Dustin! I really think this idea is great. It is a huge pain point in the BC educational system. I appreciate your candour in your reflection about the lack of program visuals. I think you did a great job of verbalising your product. Your model of pitch from the product to the need to the marketing and differentiation is really well done. You nailed it. My only constructive criticism is sighing. I would really have liked to see your face over the logo in the background.

Scott I really liked your elevator pitch great backdrop! I really found your venture pitch website to be very thorough.I admire in your reflection that like many of us your are not an entrepreneur and would need help. I think that speaks volumes to the integrity of the pitch as a whole. This is a great concept for music education. It capitalises on a large weakness without having to search Youtube videos, yeah!! I really found myself resonating with what you had to say and being intrigued by your layout. I would invest!

Henna what a great solution to a bias that as you say even women have just gone along with. I think in today #metoo climate the spotlight on women's role and place in the world is shining brightly. This crowdfunding initiative would be a great start to equity of venture capital and gender in business. I wonder how the male dominated market would take to being a part of this initiative? I think you make an extremely compelling argument and I like the personal insertion into the project. The graphics in the venture pitch are really a great example of elevation of an idea through visuals. I think the scrolling bar in your elevator pitch was good in some places but got distracting in others, perhaps a more measured approach to its use would make it more effective. Over all this is great idea and you are very persuasive.

Great solution to a very really pain point! Molly this is a well thought out product. I can see this having a Canada wide if not global market. You could have used that as your projection for sure. I think the comparisons to other products and acknowledgement of there strengths but the uniqueness of Program Ready, only adds to its strength as an investment opportunity. I really appreciate that you put yourself out there to be in the elevator pitch it lends such confidence in the product. This market is definitely a growing market. the number or international students seeking a Canadian post secondary experience is absolutely on the rise. Although I liked the steps you included to get the product to market I think a little more information about each one would have been helpful.

Adam by watching your reflection it is apparent you really thought about this pain point and really have a multifaceted solution. I think this would truly be a revolutionary piece of AI software. I am so impressed with you sleuth skills to find a company already working on handwriting digitisation. I really enjoyed your elevator pitch, I found your reflection more convincing than the prezi. I think there is something to be said about using your own voice and insights to pitch a product. Your venture pitch had great reference to differentiation and all of the educational pedagogy that would sell a product like this.

Chris, I loved the powtoon Elevator pitch great pace great information a real hook. Your website layout and information was clean and convincing. I think you have a real winner on your hands if you could in fact garner the kind of viewership reddit has. I think making the comparison to this platform is a great starting point. I liked your market research and insertion point information. I feel like I will echo a lot of what the comments already present have to say, however you made a solid pitch here and the behind the scenes work really shows through.

Sarah, I really think analytics will explode on the market. You have tapped into a potentially lucrative market for sure. I really like the concept of bridging business hiring with educational pursuits and the likelihood an employee will succeed based on the analysis of their learning endeavours. I think there is a definite link to be made, however I got lost in how this will truly be achieved with the xAPI platform. I seemed a bit hypothetical to me rather than plan for implementation oriented. I think you really nailed the graphics and I really liked the logo for the platform. Simple and memorable. Great concept!

Hi Winter, I really liked the concept and the way you presented your apps integration into an existing platform. With something like this it is great to have a built in market. I liked your play on words with the company name it will be memorable and the icon is perfect for the market you are trying to reach. I think targeting conversational English learning over conventional English language acquisition is a great idea. I would have loved to hear some sample audio, as a reassurance that the sentence pronunciation is indeed that of an English speaker. I think some testimonials for an app like this would go a long way to increasing the likelihood of investment. Even if the app is not completely functional, some "everyday" people lending support would have mass appeal like the 5 star rating or reviews on yelp or amazon. Your elevator pitch was very catchy with its graphics and transitions, I did however, find it hard to hear what you were saying as the background music was just too loud. The information on market availability in your venture pitch was great, it shows the real potential of this app. I would have liked a little more information about how the app would draw your attention with in the We-chat platform so that it wasn't just a buried micro-learning segment. The free to save 10 sentences then paid use afterwards is a great ratio of free to use in order to create customer interest. Well done!
