By osayma on November 29, 2015
SPARK is a not for profit educational initiative that aims to help Syrian kids, who have no access to education in and outside Syria, to learn through mobiles, and thus help reduce the effects of the crisis on future generation. This is a real venture that I have been working on, and I really hope […]
Week12: Activity#3
By osayma on November 26, 2015
I created this infographic, (actually it is a magazine cover) using Piktochart. I found it very easy to use with simple interface, and many features in the free edition. I used a ready template, I changed the photo and added my text. It was really nice. I wanted to create a more complex one, but […]
Week 9 Activity 3
By osayma on November 9, 2015
After reviewing the analyzing charts, I found that there’s a big need for writing assessing tools. This process maybe hard in higher education levels. There are several available applications for early learners that assess kids in writing letters, in its shapes, but I think assessing could be accessible through analyzing writers’ progress data. Also, managing […]

Disruptive Trends in The Education Industry
By osayma on September 20, 2015
Disruptive Trends in The Education Industry Overview by Jon Cropper, Futurlogic. I reviewed this rich source and I found it worthy. I liked the titles they gave to each category and I found it creative. They called MOOC’s teachers “Rock star teachers. They covered in the review eight topics: The rise of Rockstar teachers: […]

Hello, I am Osayma Al Nahlawi. This is my eighth course in the MET program. I have a bachelor degree in Psychology and I am not working now. I have three boys and a little lovely girl. I am interested in blended learning, mobile learning. I am willing to harness all the knowledge I am […]

Laurie, you identified the problem and suggested a great feasible solution. Your idea can be a real venture. I liked the way you produced the video where you mixed between graphics and real life videos. I believe that real scenes wake the feelings and let you feel the problem and the solution. I liked the way you took about kids while uploading videos "They are still children and need a secure channel". I think your venture will spread easy in the market. As an EVA, I couldn't see a clear ROI or investing method. You presented the required funds but I didn't see what I will gain from it? Anyway, thank you for sharing this great idea with us and Good Luck!

Cathy, I liked your idea and it is a solution for a global need. I liked how you considered the teachers' needs of no more "working" solution. Your solution reflected deep understanding of the portfolio needs, I liked the screenshots! Presenting the market competitors was a good idea to show the benefits of your product. Thank you for your great work!

Feedback: Hi Chris. I really enjoyed your venture and I will invest! Your work on both the elevator pitch and on the venture reflects a high quality work and design. Also your website structure is pretty and easy to follow This give me a good indicator that your company is well established and your products will have an attractive design and this is one of your goals. The idea is very nice but I think that a good lesson plan needs more complicated elements more than what you have addressed. The CEO experience is compatible with the venture's requirements, but there are no other information about the teams members. I hope if there was another way to invest rather than paying $75.000. I agree with Victoria that you can rely on teachers pay teachers for the marketing strategy. I think it is more effective than contacting schools to purchase the product, especially in the product's first phase when it is not popular yet. Any way, great work!

Hi David, I liked your idea and I am very excited to see new ideas for teaching solid subjects like history and literature. As what Tina mentioned, your team must be stronger to catch investors. You said that the venture is a teacher's idea with the work of some volunteers. Such venture needs huge production house, several graphic designers, producers, educators. I also didn't know how to invest and what is the return? In the last part of your ventures video, I couldn't hear your voice, the background music sound was really louder. I think your pitch is a perfect solution for 21st generation but it needs more efforts to be a feasible investing project.

Feedback: Hi Emily, your venture introduced me to a new world that I haven't think about. It seems to be very expensive to buy food in your region. I liked your idea but I don't know if it is feasible. I didn't know how much you asked for your venture or even if you asked. And I read that you assumed that your government will invest in your venture, is that a policy in your country to support initiatives? Anyway, your venture is good but needs more details to be a real one.

Feedback: although it is a good solution for a current problem, but as an EVA, I found that you are presenting a product to sell rather than a product to invest. I didn't find the ask, return, competition elements. In the "about" section, you asked the clients to send you specific needs to customize a solution. Your product is great, but I didn't know why it is an exclusive iOS product. It will execute a wide segment of mobile users.

Review: Allons-Y! is a good solution for a current problem in Canada. The pitch: The venture pitch covered main ideas and features of the product, and the idea of the LMS is great. The idea of open source and collaboration environment is creative and meets the current world strategies. But the point that I didn't find it covered is the content quality control. If the content was based on the contribution of teachers/ people around the world, this may leads to a low quality product and unauthorized content (the same concerns of the Wikipedia reliability). The marketing strategy is good and I think that many sectors (private and governmental) will be interested. The crowdfunding idea is ideal for such projects . Your team is good and suitable for such venture, as you have diverse education background. The Championship section was remarkable, and I wanted to see more details for the ask sections. I think, even it is a not for profit project, you had to add a return section, so the investors will have a clear vision of the importance of their funding. Anyway, good luck and keep working on it.

Review: As an EVA, I find your solution new and has features can improve the current situation and has a place in the market. Your team members covers your product needs and I find the CEO experience good. The venture concept is unique, but my only concern here is the wide range of facilities you offer in your service. As an EVA, I think that focusing on one or two majors gives the product more reliability and professionalize. You offer training content, immigrants support, company employing services and several\options. I suggest to concentrate on one field so it can be more efficient. I understood that it is a not for profit venture, so what the investors will gain from investing? I understood that the product features will greater and you will reach a bigger market, but what would investors get? As an investor, I would think many times and ask for several details before I do. Good Luck!

Hi rrto, thank you very much for your offer. I am very pleased from your help, as I always look for someone to help me in building strong sentences and fix my grammatical mistakes. Thanks Maureen, Tareq and Caleb. About the video creation, I am not good at all in creating movies and this was the first time I create a movie, I wanted to be better. Your questions about implementation process, devices distribution and the more detailed questions are really valuable and I have answers for them, but I couldn't address them all because it requires much more than 8 minutes (2000 words). If you are interested in these details, I can send you more specific details. Your contributions are very welcomed!

Feedback: Great work Victoria. Before watching your venture I guessed it will be great because of your great participation in the class. I used to follow your comments and I always liked your "out of the box" ideas. In your venture, you mentioned a great solution for many sectors, and you solved a big problem, that annoys most of us. Your venture saves lots of time and it is easy to access. I liked your objective presentation of the venture and how you addressed the positives and the negatives of your venture. One of the common mistakes that many people do is saying that his/her pitch is just perfect and has no competition. Your facial expressions and your voice tune, reflected your self confidence which is a very important element in presenting ventures. I couldn't catch the place where you convinced me the CEO. Also, I was surprised with the huge amount of your ask and I couldn't know how they are going to be distributed. However, thank you for your great idea, and I will think to invest in your venture. PS: I would be very pleased if you could review my venture "SPARK". I like to know your opinion about it. Thanks.
