W12: Wearable Technology Review

By tobin4 on August 3, 2014

Great job! It’s hard to believe we are already approaching the end of the term. I think the topic of Wearable’s is so important right now, as this emerging market is facing such fast development as well as issues of privacy concerns. Something that I really enjoyed about your OER was the structure where the […]

Week 11- 3D Printing Review:

By tobin4 on July 27, 2014

Let me first say that I really enjoyed your OER on 3D Printing. One thing that I noticed right away was that you incorporated the Creative Common license right on the your homepage at the bottom. This is a wonderful touch that strengthens the presentation itself for the user. I know in my group’s OER […]

Well-done Learning Analytics Team! Right away I would like to express how useful the checklist is on your page. Having the ability to see exactly what the expectations are and laid out made the learning experience that much better. I like how you had the checklist both at the beginning page as well at the […]

Review:Hi Helder! Awesome Job! I would definitely invest in this venture. One of your biggest strengths in both of your pitches is that it’s extremely engaging and held my attention well. Another strength to your presentation is that it came from a place of personal experience with describing your expectations of your Grade 8 class and just how HighlightThis would enhance your teaching practice for students. I also think that building around the already avaiably highlighting technology on the web but tailoring it for the classroom is a brilliant idea and something that investors would jump on immediately. Running the beta app creates a strong argument for the possibility of a strong venture as well as the confidence in your team from your descriptions. You really hit it out of the park! Well done! Cheers, Chad :)

6 Aug Posted on Assignment 3 : ConstructWithUs – a new venture!

Review: Hi Katherine! First of all, both of your pitches are awesome. I love the bold yellow design of your site as well. It was very commanding and makes your site easy to navigate and digest the information. I also like how in your elevator pitch you present a position that lets the viewer know you understand their position, this as a teacher made me want to look deeper into your venture presentation. I also love the hook “Ready to learn more?” as it suggests there is even more value to the product once you explore your site. Another huge strength in your product is showing investors that with only 25 schools signed up for ConstructWithUS, their money will be made back. You have used powerful, successful language throughout your pitch that really projects that one day this will be a multi-million company with a global market. The site has just the right amount of information to describe your venture; the right amount of visuals, and everything has a fit and a flow it. Awesome Job!

6 Aug Posted on A3: PRO-T

Review: Hi Chris! Your Elevator pitch is awesome. You caught my interest within your student achievement question. You set up your pitch perfectly and caused me to want to know more about your venture. Something else in your elevator pitch that I really thought was effective was talking about how Pro-T is optimized for mobile devices making it even more attractive to teachers, which in turns makes it more attractive to investors. Your website is cleanly designed, easy to navigate and the information is organized neatly with not too much reading to do. The pain point area on your site is also well done. Talking about the needs and backing up with evidence of what is needed even before you talked about what is the problem made for an extremely strong and persuasive argument for Pro-T. The marketing approach you take with describing how it works for teachers and adminstrators, enhances the validity of the product. One of the greatest compliments I think that I can give you is that your site has just the right amount of information to describe your venture; the right amount of visuals, and everything has a fit and a flow it. The only constructive thing that I can point out about your project is that in your Elevator Pitch, the lighting has caused your face to appear very dark and makes it hard to see and interpret your message. What you said is perfect, we just need to be able to see you better. Awesome, awesome job man!

Feedback: Hi ekitchen! I really enjoyed both of your pitches! I love that you described right in your elevator pitch what makes your company is different. Another strength that is really apparent in your pitch is your effective cadence and tone of your voice for describing your product. Another really nice touch in your venture picture was the use of a table of contents in your PDF. I can see this as being very helpful for prospective investors wanting to go back over a part of your pitch and having quicker access. Nice Work! Cheers, Chad :)

Feedback: Hi jonathanlai! I really have to say I love your idea and that you thought outside the box. Thinking outside the box is what pushes development and the icontrol is an awesome and interesting idea and take more place in the market as technology advances. Your venture pitch was designed well and you conveyed your ideas well. The only suggestion I could make was maybe to define your product a little more in the Elevator pitch. I found that I had a hard time understanding the viability of the product during the pitch. Awesome Job! Cheers, Chad :)

Feedback: Hi Danielle! I really enjoyed both of your pitches! A real strength of your presentation is both your product and your delivery. While watching your Venture Pitch you were very persuasive in a positive way in how Resumedia will save employers both money and time. There is a real flow to your presentation and you back up your product well. I am wondering if there is any competition that you would face with Resumedia? Cheers, Chad :)

FeedBack: Hi courtney oc! I have to say that I really enjoyed your elevator pitch. A real strong quality that it has is your confidence in your product and your framing the venture as already being successful. I think it makes the prospective investor feel more attraction to your product. The only thing that I could think of to give constructive feedback about is the amount of information in your slides in the your Venture Pitch. Often less is more and maybe some graphics to break up the information or part of the material in point form might make the presentation a little stronger. Awesome job! Chad :)

Feedback: Hi Kgill! I really enjoyed your both of your pitches and I really have to say I love your idea and that you thought outside the box. Thinking outside the box is what pushes development and the imagination is the best instrument in that. Well done. I also think that we will soon see products like this in the years to come. Exploration of concepts with virtual experience will enrich our lives and this product speaks to the heart of that. One thing that I would like to see a bit different in your presentation would be hearing your voice in the elevator pitch. I find that so much emotion that goes along with a person’s passion is found in the description of the voice. I also loved how you talked about where the product was made and the global target that you are hoping to reach with more investment. Well done! Chad :)

5 Aug Posted on Classroom Library Catalog App

Feedback: Hi Karalea! I think the classroom Library Catalog App is not only a great idea, but also something that I can see many teachers everywhere using for their classroom. I know many stories of teachers that I know losing track of resources and things that they have in their classrooms. Your prezi is wonderful and a real strength of your presentation is found in your solution slide. You did a wonderful job at explaining how the app works and by reading levels, tracking, and the simple registry. I feel like I really understand the product in just that one slide and that makes for a very strong venture pitch. One thing that I would like to see a bit different in your presentation would be hearing your voice in the elevator pitch. You made the most of your pitch in the time you had. Love it! Chad :)

Feedback: Kendra your elevator pitch was excellent and provided not only a great overview of your venture but held my attention well. The sound effects, visuals, and content all made for a very engaging presentation. Another strength to your presentation is that it came from a place of personal experience with your Small Supported Open Online Course. You can tell you believe in your product and it shines through on both your site and your elevator pitch vid. Nice work! Chad :)
