When people ask questions that either we don’t know or can’t answer, we often say ‘Just google it’. We use google so often that google became a word instead of just calling as a name of the company. When we search online for anything, we always start from Google, at least that’s what I do to […]

Hello Sarah, I really enjoyed going through your venture pitch! Great ideas on allowing students to share the knowledge on online learning space. I wonder if there is any teacher or instructor or anybody supervising what students are sharing. As you know, online space is very open and free of sharing anything. Having students to share anything online without any supervision might not be a great idea. Also your venture is non-profit organization, how will you earn or get donated to run the program? How much do you think it will need to run the program? And, your venture pitch video sound seems very very low. It was kind of difficult to hear. I don't know if its just my computer and iPad... Anyways thank you for sharing, Great Work!

Somehow, I lost everything that I have written on this post... oh well, I will start over.. I just wanted to say that your venture is very well organized and well created! I enjoyed going through your website and your venture pitch included detailed information that helped me to understand more about your venture. I know there is a lot of applications out there already but depends how well the application works for individuals. I have previously tried few free application but there are not many features that worked for me. I think your venture has fun and exciting material where learners can learn mandarin without feeling pressure. One suggestion for you is that the price might be little expensive to attract more people. To compete with other free application, reducing the price might help. Thank you for sharing your venture! Great work!

Hello Vincent, Is this your existing venture that is available for students already? It is amazing venture that you created! I really enjoyed going over your venture and your venture pitch. As we all know, Asian Market is very big. They see the educational as very important requirement in their lives. But this is not wrong. Educational is very important. I liked how you created the venture to help students to receive help going abroad to study. Your venture is very unique since I have seen many company that offer similar services as your but not online. They offer consultation and provide information on school for students who are willing to go oversea to study. Are you planning to expand your venture to be available for other countries as well? Great work!

Great work week 11 Team! Thank you for the thorough information on adaptive learning technologies. I liked how you have created questions in the beginning to make participants to get engaged! As I was going through your OER, I thought adaptive learning technologies are exactly how we are currently working to meet 21st century learning style. We use technology all the time and learning with technologies seems very common in our regular classroom. But, like Jamie mentioned on her post, I would also invest on this venture but not to replace with teachers teaching in the classroom. Adaptive learning technologies would work best when it is used properly with well trained professionals such as teachers/instructors. I remember one of my students came back to see me while taking online learning program. He wasn't able to work on his own and it was difficult for him to get engaged in learning. Since that was his first time using the technology for learning, he was struggling a lot. Not only for my student but I'm sure there are many other students who might not feel comfortable adapting technologies in learning outside of the school. I would like to invest on this venture but I wouldn't rely too much yet on this venture for learning alone. I really enjoyed going over your OER!

Well done on your OER! I liked how you started OER with introductive video to give us insight of what is immersive experience in learning. Your OER is well organized and it was easy to understand your topic. Whenever there is a discussion topic that I can reflect my own teaching environments, it makes me feel good because then I can consider different ways on to improve/change my own work environment to achieve better for both myself and the students. Thanks for engaging and interesting OER!

Great work Week 9 team! I really enjoyed going over your websites. Information are clearly organized and visual contents was very helpful for easily understanding the content of personalized learning. Also discussion questions are well selected for myself to reflect not only my perspective on personalized learning but my current school system adapting technology for students' learning. As I was also mentioned on my discussion post, I wonder how you would suggest on school that does not have great technology or information on bringing technology in to the individual classroom. In order to have personalized learning environment for the students, technology is mandatory. Can there be any suggestion on having personalized learning environment without using technology or minimum usage of technology tools? Great work!

Hello Vincent, you had amazing opportunity working with Founder/CEO of VIPKID. Its always pleasure to work with someone who is very passionate in their working field. She seems very strong with the business idea she had and researched/worked well to make it successful. I'm not sure if she had plan ahead before dropping out of the school, I want to give her a credit on continuing school and business without wasting her time. I have seen many online English tutoring company. I wonder what is her business tip to be successful compare to other people who owns similar company.

I would invest in this venture. Before I even view the video, I decided to invest on this venture. Project based learning allows students to learn through real life cases and this make students to think outside of the box. Instead of focusing the learning from the textbook and teachers, project based allows students to investigate the problem and get engaged in challenging learning activities. Since students have different style of learning, they will use various methods to solve the problems and learn how to collaborate work with others. The book of problem based learning has practical guide line on how to help students. This is for both teachers, educators and the parents to make the learning much more exciting and fun.

I like the idea of having lighter version of tablet which can be convenient for travel. Textbooks are heavy and tablets are very fragile that it can be dropped at any time. I have seen tablets that are cracked and broken so often from the students. Instead of handing out the tablet, paper tablet can be easy for teachers and students and maintain well. Its unfortunate that I wasn't able to get more information regarding to the paper tablet through the YouTube video. I don't know how much it cost (I'm sure its not going to be cheap since its touch screen), maintenance, any updates, internet access, repair cost...etc. I will still not invest in this venture because paper tablet does not have good features like normal tablet. Its shown in black and white, no video playing, and wires make difficult to use in the classroom. Thinking of having 20 different lines for 20 students can be unmanageable in the classroom. I would use either regular tablet or computer instead of investing money on paper tablet.

Hello Sarah, I have visited website and this is great 'data-driven' resource. It helps from all over the countries and for the people who needs help with technology, Holon IQ can guide through and support the needs. Thank you for sharing the good resource! Myself browsed through the website for a long time too.
