Hi Briar, I am very impressed by your extensive knowledge on this topic. As I read through your venture pitch, I am convinced that there is market potential for this product. However, since I am not knowledgeable about your market, I will not invest in your idea. In addition, I found your asking is quite high, and that is another reason I won't be investing in it as an EVA. A $500k asking has to have a very good revenue source or market potential to justify the price. If you can improve a little bit more in building a promising picture for an EVA, she might be interested and give you the money!

Hi Aron, Your venture is great and definitely identifies one of the pain points that teachers experiencing with ever-developing technologies. Your execution of the venture is well-planned, and I am confident that you will succeed in the future. However, I am in doubt that your app will gain similar popularity as gained by Pokemon Go and snapchat. You will have to have a very good student engagement plan in place to achieve that goal. Once you justify this part of your marketing plan, I am sure that an EVA will lay his eyes on it!

Hi Tomek, I admire your dedication to this tragic topic and your willingness to commit to this cause. It is a great venture to pursue. However, I don't think an EVA will invest in such project as it does not generate any income. That being said, it is a great venture for philanthropists, and I encourage you to propose the project to them and discuss the potential opportunities! In addition, I agree with my fellow classmates that you need more detailed plan written out in order to earn a chance talking to a philanthropist.

Hi Stephen, Very interesting idea that you presented. I like how you constructed your elevator pitch as well as venture pitch, as both of them show your professionalism and your deep thoughts on the topic. However, while I read through your project, I do feel that as an EVA I can not believe that a new product can generate at lease $22 million revenue. The numbers just don't seem right to me. You have to give a very good explanation on how do you plan to achieve 1% adoption rate. Every idea can be a million dollar idea, but a million dollar idea has to have a decent plan that helps it achieve the revenue target.

Hi Gary, A nicely presented app that addresses teacher's pain points! Your well structured venture pitch will definitely get a yes for this investment! While I love the idea, I do concern about the number of students who are willing to download this application.(I guess most of them are unwilling.) So, if they do not download the app, how do you plan to control the classroom then? My suggestion - A thorough participation plan should be drafted in order to justify need for your product. Regards, Yuandi

Hi Laurie, Very well presented concept! I like they way you present your idea which looks neat and professional! Your presented idea definitely has growing potentials, and I am sure an EVA will be able to identify that. Having said that, I do have confusions with your venture. How do you plan to advocate the use of beacon technology in BCIT? As far as I know, from an alumni perspective, lives there are pretty intense, and students do not have extra time playing around on their cellphones. Therefore, you must either have a very engaging application or a close connection to the course that they study. So, I think that an EVA would like to know how will you plan to incorporate the beacon technology to BCIT students' busy schooldays.

Hi Cole, You are full of passion in presenting your venture! It is always great to start a business that you you know you are gonna love it! I like how you combine e-text book concept with social studies curriculum, which must be very appealing to an EVA. However, I do have problem in justifying your target market. As you have mentioned, there is no official textbook for social studies, and I would like to know why exactly, from an EVA perspective. You might need to justify a bit more why would district schools may want to buy social studies books from SCP now. By doing so, you can help an EVA to understand why digital social study textbook is a promising market in BC.

Hi Michael, your venture pitch is very well done and thought-out! I especially like your detailed external analysis and thorough implementation plan. While you have presented a such great venture idea, I do have problem imagining how will you develop such software to meet your ROI in year two. The software sounds like a million-dollar investment to me; therefore, if I were an EVA to invest in a project costs that much, I would like to know a little bit more details about software development. Other than that, everything else is perfect! I love how you planning out each phases so that I can see clearly how would you want to move strategically.

Hi Heather, I too think that you are either part of this venture or have already launched it.:) Great job helping improve children's literacy! Your cost analysis are impeccable and your plan is very detailed and thought-out. I cannot find something to comment on by watching your elevator pitch and reading your document. You must have already spotted problems and improvise along the way! Though it is more like a plan for a philanthropist rather than an EVA.
