Hi Sarah, I have been thinking about these similar ideas for a while and my target market is China as there is no dominant players in the market (we might have to face the competition from Udemy, Lynda in other market) right now which leaves development room to startups. Have you ever considered to expand your business to China? BTW, for a startup, the crowdfunding is a quite different way but probably a great way to get funded in your case as this option (pay $9.99 to get lifetime access) might be quite attractive for some potential customer. Cheers!

Hi Sydney, I really enjoyed your presentation and agree with you that there are real customer needs and you find a good niche market. I don't know if you have ever evaluated the competitive environment that this product may face. I mean, current mainstream recruitment or training websites are able to easily launch their own products to cover this segment. To compete against them, what are our competitive advantages? Cheers!

Hi Sarah, I like your idea and your presentation. As an EVA, however, it's difficult to decide whether or not I should invest in this project as I don't have a clue about the market information, which is vital to make a projection about the future growth of this business. Cheers!

Thanks for your excellent work, Immersive Team. I really enjoyed reading your OER and gained useful business insights from your presentation. I never doubt the potential of AR in education (especially in K-12). However, I have never really enjoyed the fun of VR because I am nearsighted. For this reason, I have always underestimated the potential of VR in learning. The described application of VR in corporate soft skills training does make sense. And I like the way you guys present this topic under the background of the new requirement for training in the era of artificial intelligence. Welldone!

Thanks for sharing this inspiring story with us. For me, the most impressive takeaway is Mr. Sims’ second advice, “Transparency is the best policy when running a company”. I know that radical truth and radical transparency are also one of the work principles of Ray Dalio, and I know that it’s extremely difficult to really implement it in the day-to-day work. Probably that’s the reason why Mr. Sims succeed in his entrepreneurship case.

Hi Malorie, thanks for sharing Adam’s bio with us. I have attended “Coding Lab for Kids: Sphero Robot Obstacle Challenge” with my daughter in Apple Store and it was a very inspiring learning experience for an eight-year-old girl. Two takeaways: 1. A good team is vital for the success of entrepreneurship. 2. The importance of angel investment or pre-A round investment is not only reflected in financial support.

Hi, Team, thanks for this informative OER and I enjoyed this pleasant learning journey. The digital textbook is not new for us and is not a hot topic as well, while this learning resource is beyond my expectation. I like the interactivities and market updates of e-textbook. What surprised me the most is the fact that it’s so challenging for even the most basic educational technology (e-books) to land in schools and classrooms of a developed country. It is not difficult to imagine how big the gap between the ideal and reality of EdTech is.

Hi, GBL team, thanks for offering us an informative OER. I like the way you guys present these engaging contents. As an EVA, I have to say that personally I am not optimistic about the prospects of the educational game industry. The core strength of a good game is its ability to provide or facilitate players with something they can't experience in their daily lives. For instance, players can create a virtual world in Minecraft, and create a variety of small programs or games with Scratch. The key to the success of these two applications is learning by doing, which enables players to experience project-based learning. While both Prodigy and Legends of learning are actually variant forms of an online quiz. The gaming elements are not the game itself. I highly doubt this kinds of educational games can help students improve their learning outcomes.
