With over 15 years experience in online Instructional Design, Development, and Project Management, I have a Masters in Information Technology as well as a candidate for Masters in Education Technology from University of British Columbia (UBC).
I have worked with one of the largest academic teaching hospitals in Canada on high profile projects like SEME program and the Rachel Flood Ostomy Education advanced certificate program managing project budgets in excess of $500,000. I am currently the Project Lead – eLearning and Educational Technologies at Sanofi Pasteur.
In addition, I have experience speaking and facilitating both nationally and internationally with the eLearning Guild’s online webcasts, the annual DevLearn conference, the Canadian Moodle Moot, the eACH Conference, Sunnybrook Health Science’s Education Expo, the annual CSTD conference, and the Articulate Roadshow.

The company I work for is heavily regulated by Regulatory bodies such as FDA, Health Canada, etc. We manufacture polio, tetanus, TB, etc. vaccines. The employees have to work according to the SOPs and sometimes they have to read 100+ SOPs to perform their job. I have introduced eBook that has visual SOPs complimented with voice over and videos showing each step of the tasks they have to perform. This has gain lot of interest among our employees as it's easily accessible and better form of learning rather than reading SOP.

It's an extremely interesting topic... In Adult Education, I think Gamification (adding game elements to a nongame situation e.g., Corporate reward programs) is more appropriate than game-based learning which relates to the use of games to enhance the learning experience. Like my company invested a million dollar on a game that takes the learners to various stages of production and during the game there are many challenges that the learner faces, but the intake was less than 15%. Therefore, it is extremely important to know your audience before doing such a huge investment.

I love this topic... I have presented in DevLearn (eLearning Guilt) in 2015 about Microlearning: Bite-sized Learning. I personally believe that the learning should be bite-sized so it's effective and learners can retain it longer - therefore I am huge fan of developing scenario-based courses that are relevant and brief to digest. But they are people who believe that it's mostly about focus. They would say if you can watch an hour 45 mins movie on Netflix then you can take a 45 minute eLearning course. What do you think?
