As someone who employs Remind 101 in my own classroom, learning more about Kopf’s personal story has been enlightening. This story about an entrepreneur who went through his own adversity while parlaying that to help others is inspiring. His passion and dedication to making this venture successful is apparent. This app fills in the need for direct and immediate communication between teachers, parents and students. The communication platform has traditionally been: letters, phone calls, and emails. With varying schedules for each student, parent and teacher, this app does well in reaching people en mass in general messages or can be targeted to specific individuals. It has an easy to use interface and is built so that no party actually knows each others’ personal phone numbers which is a great highlight. It seems that Remind 101 is doing well in building a strong team to further develop and support this application. The access is incredible in that it is essentially free for all users and tailors its messaging to local numbers. Although simplistic in idea, the attention to detail and functionality is very thorough. If he hopes to grow Remind 101 to become more profitable, he will need to starting developing methods to accrue revenue from potential partners or from users by adding greater valued services for a premium service than they currently do. I highlight recommend the use of this app in practice.
