FEEDBACK: This is a great idea… but as you say, there will need to be a team of experts working on its implementation. I do know that students can build decent 3D models (using SketchUp, Photoshop, etc), and there are ways to view these objects using Google Cardboard (see our site http://etec522virtualreality.weebly.com/activity-2-google-cardboard.html for details!).. so I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to have textbooks incorporated into the mix… Students could share 3D objects that can be targeted at certain spots in the textbook (something like a QR code, that would work with smartphones) and ‘upranked’, so that the top-rated 3D objects can be viewed by anyone with the textbook. Just a thought!
