Hi Chava, Marc and Basia! Thank you for…

Hi Chava, Marc and Basia! Thank you for your responses. This is such a great thread so far, as it extends from the same discussions our group often had in our meetings while developing the OER. Most of our team members are educators as well, and we had to adapt and look through the investor’s lens. I think an important takeaway is that adaptive learning technologies are not meant to replace a teacher, and only through an equal partnership could it be successful, particularly in a setting other than (and including) higher education. To respond to the discussion limit, we did in fact increase the limit to 2000 characters, so we will check on that! Thank you for taking the time to fill us in on the bug and for crafting insightful responses. We appreciate the fact that time is often every educator’s pipe dream, and incidentally, this is exactly the resource adaptive learning aims to give back to the teachers using it. But, as you mentioned, only as a supplement to an educator’s teaching, and with enough training to implement it properly. Finally, as for the polls, the tool we used (POWr) did not permit us to offer real-time submission displays, as that is a pro feature. What we can humbly offer is to take screenshots of submissions and add them directly under the polls, with a date stamp, so that everyone can see results (not in real-time, but in lieu of this pro feature). 🙂
