Immersive experiences such as AR. VR and MR seem to be well positioned to expand greatly in the educational space in the near future. As others have mentioned, the ability to manipulate and interact with virtual objects can potentially allow for significant long-term savings in an educational context, as well as provide a safe environment when working with things that would normally be dangerous. I feel that the immersive aspect of having a user inhabit a character, role. or situation can be very beneficial in having that user demonstrate what they are learning. Allowing the user to see a situation through the eyes and perspective of someone or something else can engage them and help them so see the subject in new and creative ways, further expanding the potential for these technologies to be effective for learning.
