I’ve often wondered why school communications products seem so clunky. At any given moment I am the recipient of some combination of FB post, newsletter, txt message, paper note or word of mouth. Sometimes the information overlaps between the platforms, sometimes it doesn’t. But there is rarely a pattern. And it is often like working out a jigsaw puzzle made up of 10 different pictures of the same scene. So, yes I believe this company occupies an interesting venture space. Beyond my anecdotal rant, there must be people who long for a streamlined and more strategic approach to school comms. 23 million active users with 90% of the US K-12 districts sounds impressive. Closing the loop between parents, students and teachers in a device agnostic platform does seem like a win. On the flip side how novel is the technology? Is it more a case of applying tried and true technology to a disorganized space — in a right place-right time type scenario? Or is it a Remind innovator? I would want to look into see how Remind differentiates itself from competitors and innovates its offering. Thanks Sarah!
